Ordered out of nostalgia, glad I did!
I’m sure, like many reading this review, years ago Medaglia D' Oro in a can was my first experience with espresso brewed at home. I used a drip maker as household espresso machines weren’t “a thing” yet.So, I had to try it when it became available in Nespresso original pods, just to check it out.I’m glad I did. It has a rich, smokey “Italian roast” flavor that is well balanced between bitter & sweet. Its 100% Arabica so it’s not quite as strong as some robusta blends, but definitely towards the top end of that scale. Goes well with a cube of sugar if you like it that way, but still very drinkable straight. I would guess it’s a blend of South & Central American beans. Perhaps some from Guatemala? Has the overtones. The price is right, so I’ll be ordering more.

Tasty for value priced Nespresso espresso pods from this brand/roast
Just received and used in a few lattes and cappuccinos, the taste was dark as espresso should be although slightly burnt tasting. I would say it’s ok for the cost/qty. If over time my findings change I will update this review. I’d say worth a shot for milk based coffee drinks. As with ALL non-Nespresso capsules they are plastic not aluminum, only genuine an espresso pods are aluminum.

Great Coffee -- Only problem for some is the plastic capsule
MY ORIGINAL REVIEW: I've been eagerly awaiting this coffee since I began using my Nespresso Lattisimo Plus coffee maker several years ago. Now it's available. Unfortunately, it's packed in cheap plastic pods that sometimes fall through the Latissimo Plus when you put the pod in the loading slot. That means you sometimes have to remove the storage drawer for used pods, reach up, and manually load the coffee in the proper place. On the other hand, it's great coffee. I've updated my review to reflect that despite the capsule, I've reordered it four times.

A treat for everyone!
I grew up drinking this espresso! It was known by every family in our community. Not a home was without Medaglia D'Oro! My father would brew the espresso for after dinner with dessert almost evernight. Then, I went off to university and graduate schools and married and never got back into the habit of brewing fresh espresso, until we purchased the Nespresso machine. Now, Medaglia D'Oro is a staple in our family again. Great taste, awesome intensity, easy to prepare, cost effective, and brings back fond memories. Thank you!

One of the best espresso !!!
I'm always on the hunt for alternative pods for our original Nespresso machine. Among the many Nespresso-compatible brands I've tried, these espresso capsules are the best ,each pod produces a cup of flavorful and aromatic espresso coffee.

Good, but Not aluminum
Strong, level 11, coffee. A bit bitter, better with a short pull. BUT, plastic capsules, not aluminum like Peets, Illy or Nespresso. I’m quickly learning to just stick with actual Nespresso.

Slow Flow While Brewing in Nespresso Machine
Just wanted to mention that these plastic pods seem to restrict the flow of water while brewing — the amount of liquid coming out is sometimes diminished and slows the brewing process. Probably not a big deal but I’m going back to Nespresso brand or Peet’s pods.

NOT full size
I ordered these thinking they were normal size K cups. They are NOT. They are small and for specialized machines. I didn't notice that in the description. I will still use the espresso from the cups for other recipes.
