Good workbook to go along with the book
Good workbook to go along with the book. The only problem that I had with it was I bought the book for review and not for a class and only certain answer are in the book.

Great book. My wife uses it all the time, so does my daughter who is in nursing school.

but there are books that are much better at teaching and dealing with coding from the CPT ...
This book is decent, but there are books that are much better at teaching and dealing with coding from the CPT and ICD 10 as far as basics go. There is even a few areas where the suggested answer for the instructor was wrong. Also, it is NOT ideal to start off with ICD 10 and then throw someone under the bus with ICD 9 info. THis causes a great deal of confusion for new coders.

You are not told you have to be an instructor to get the even answers!!!
I am studying on my own. I bought this as a supplemental tool in preparation for the CPC exam. i started working in it to realize only answers in the back are for the odd numbers and customer services REFUSES to give the even answers because I am not an instructor... but, yet I am not a student either.

ICD-9 coding
I went to school and studies ICD-10 for 8 months, then on April 1, it was announced that the US will NOT go into ICD-10 but will stay with ICD-9. Well I bought this book to help me prepare for state board exam. It has been a great help.
