Absolutely! My bird loves it! Stainless steel and aluminum are bird safe...the colors prove quite interesting to my Alexandrine!

would a cokatiel used this? I'm trying to find some challenging toys for a new cokitiel

I bought the Busy Strip for a very active Goffins Cockatoo, he loves it and he’s big enough to use it! However I also have a cockatiel, he’s much smaller than the Goffin and his ability to play is different. Your ‘tiel might be happier with a smaller toy. My ‘tiel loves shredding type toys made from straw or paper., small bells, or lightweight plastic wood or plastic.

Is there any zinc in any of the metal?

I ordered knowing people had it on line would probably not have ordered it if there was. I did return mine because there was a sharp defect. There is a seller off Amazon called royal avian specialties llc in Facebook. Everything will be stainless steel
