Valerian Root, 2 Piece Pack, 100 Count , 2 PACK

This is so much better than melatonin. No morning grogginess which I hated with Mel. This doesn't knock me out but calmed me down so I could go to sleep. I toss n turn alot, while taking this, I fell back asleep faster after tossing. Factory worker, 430pm till 3am, hard hrs to sleep but valerien root helps you get it. Cons- it smells a little but doesn't stick to your breath, you'll be fine.

Excellent product, works great

I had my doubts when I purchased this pill because there are so many paid reviews out there, but let me tell you, this one actually works. The back of the bottle says it promotes relaxation and helps sleep, it does. I suffer from anxiety, I get anxious during class presentations, group work, public speaking, anything that has to do with me being put on the spot. Not only do I suffer from anxiety but I also get the embarrassing symptoms that come with anxiety: sweating, rapid heartbeat, hot flashes, etc. It got to a point where I wanted to avoid going out to places so I wouldn't get anxious and begin sweating and feel embarrassed. I wasn't expecting too much from this pill, but I was surprised with the results. The recommended dosage is three pills, but since I take these before school, not bed, I decided to just take one to see how my body reacted to it. Well, I took one and about one hour later I realized my heart wasn't beating as fast as it usually does. I would get really nervous before this one class because the Prof would randomly call on people, but after taking this pill I felt relaxed. Yes, I was still worried about being called on, but my heart wasn't racing and I wasn't sweating! I didn't feel numb either, its hard to explain. I guess, for the first time in many years I felt "normal" like I didn't have to worry about the "what ifs" of sweating, anxiety, and nervousness. I was also worried this pill was going to make me sleepy but I didn't feel sleepy or drowsy all day. I don't want to become dependent on these pills so I take them only when I really feel like I need the help. I also only take one sometimes two if I feel super nervous, but I feel like one pill will suffice. I think if I were to take three then I might feel sleepy but not sure since I haven't taken more than two. The pills are big and STINK! Take them before you leave your house so you won't be embarrassed to open the bottle in public because the smell will travel quickly! haha. The smell is no big deal compared to what the pill actually does for you. Anyway, I recommend this pill for people who easily get anxious, nervous, have a hectic lifestyle, suffer from stress, etc. It worked for me and I'm so glad I found this because I didn't want to get prescribed medication.

Yes… it stinks. In fact, when you open the bottle, you are immediately hit in the face with a dirty gym sock smell. And by dirty, I mean the same sock that a teenage kid has worn everyday for a week at football camp. However, it works! I have a hard time winding down and this vitamin has helped tremendously. Hold your nose and swallow it and you’ll understand why it’s worth it!

Makes me sleepy. Cant hardly wake up

I take this for the mood enhancing capabilities. I take it at night since it is supposed to make me sleepy, so I don't really know of that aspect works or not, cause I'm already tired when I take them. Also, not even sure how much it's helping my anxiety. Just not sure how much it helps. The smell is horrible and I have to wash my hands everytime I take them. Trying another brand to see if it smells any better, because I feel like I'm just eatting poop with these.

I need a sleep aid that will relax me, allow me to feel like I am drifting into a natural sleep, and last all night long. I also need a sleep supplement that will not be addictive or make me feel hung-over the next morning. After trying melatonin and other sleep aids with varying results, I decided to give Valerian root a try. I like Nature's Way products because they get good quality ratings from independent surveys when testing the content of the products (it actually contains the product it says it does). I took one capsule and actually began to feel mildly relaxed after about 90 min. I feel asleep very naturally and slept most of the night. I awoke feeling refreshed but not super-duper rested. The next night I took one pill about 2 hours before bedtime and another one just as I climbed in bed. MAGIC!!! I have now been following that routine about 3 times a week for about 2 months. I don't do it every night because I don't want to become reliant on the product and mu sleep issues are intermittent. This stuff is truly amazing and has completely repaired my sleep cycle! I relax easily before bedtime, fall asleep naturally, rest well (no middle of the night wakefulness--even if I get up to use the restroom, I fall right back to sleep). Fully rested and rejuvenated in the morning. I wear a sleep tracker watch--before Valerian= 2.5 deep sleep, 3.5 light sleep. With Valerian = 3.75 deep and 4.5 light. It seriously makes all the difference for me.

I paid 3.65 for the 100 pills and this is a very good price. I love summers but despite the air conditioning, I sometimes have trouble sleeping. I hate sleeping pills because all they do is make me groggy and my heart race. I have found that Valerian helps a lot in calming and maintaining the quality of sleep. They key is to take the required dosage that is about 3 pills about 30 minutes before bedtime to help you fall asleep. I take about three but efficacy can be achieved in lesser dosages as well. According The American Cancer society website , the usual dosage of valerian extract in tablet form is 300 to 900 milligrams to be taken an hour or two before bedtime. For stress and anxiety, the usual dose is 50 to 100 milligrams taken 2 to 3 times a day, although some recommend doses of 200 milligrams or even 400 milligrams. So one tablet might be effective for most people. This product is excellent in doing what it promises to do that is promote relaxation and sleepiness. Valerian is a safe natural way but some people might experience headaches, dizziness, gastrointestinal problems and sleeplessness. If you are pregnant or breastfeeding- I would not advise taking this pill. I paid 3.65 for the 100 pills and this is a very good price. Please do not take this with alcohol as the effects are magnified but not in a good way. Finally if you are taking other medicines I would ask the doctor about taking Valerian as it could interact with other medications.
