Can it be sprayed with leather protection?

I would guess so, it is leather!

is the brown color in the hobo satchel shoulder crossbody, is that a brown brown, or a blushy pinkish brown?? Picture does not look brown.

The description says it has a small outside pocket for keys, etc. I don't see an "outside pocket." Does it have one?

Yes, the pocket is on the other side of the hand bag. The pocket is 7 inches long. I use it for my keys and phone. It is a nice hand bag.

Does this leather handbag work well?

I've had it for a few months but I don't use it everyday. IMO it is well constructed and is a good overall medium sized bag. It has a middle aligned zipper pouch that I am not in love with. I prefer to have an open cavity style of bag, but it does work for me if I put small items in that middle zipper pouch. I find that I use the long strap on the bag when I am shopping, so I try to reduce the weight inside it for that. Hope this answer is helpful.
