Impressive program of obscure delights, excellent recording
This is undeservedly obscure music, easily equal to that of famous composers of the period. Lots of great tunes here, played with verve and invested with emotion. I am thoroughly impressed with the dynamics Demeyere can extract from this sometimes lifeless, cold instrument. The recording is first class, with an ideal acoustic setting: not excessive reverberation to obscure any detail, yet a full image of the instrument and its presence within a palpable space.
