damn good cd
I believe this is a really good cd. I used to be into the whole hardcore genre, but its all starting to sound the same. There are a few bands that really stand out to me and this is one of them. The song writing on this cd is excellent. It is not your typical hardcore cd with the stereotypical indecypherable screams and all the same sounding breakdowns. The Bled makes their mark by their creativity. Listen to this whole cd and you will see what I mean. The stand out songs are numbers 1,2,3,5,6, and 9. These seem to have the most energy. The other songs are excellent and show the slower side of the genre. This and Gutter Phenonmenon are my favorite hardcore cds of this year. If you enjoy this cd, check out their old cd and their EXTREMELY RARE EPs. Also check out Every Time I Die because they are the definition of perfection and creativity in the genre. Also be on the look out for Anterrabae, their first cd shows the same potention as these. The Bled brings back to life a dead genre of music for me.

Unbelievable
Clearly opinions are very split concerning this album but I have to say that it is amazing. Whether its better that Pass the Flask or not is still up for debate. But its an incredible album that does so many things right. I actually had very high expectations for this CD and am pleased to say that they achieved, if not surpassed, them. The variety is the best part; along with the way they blend it all together. Some tracks remind me of early Bled stuff off His First Crush, while others drip with emotion similar to Porcelain Hearts and Hammers for Teeth. Their is also guitars immediatly recognizable as Bled style and the vocals are simply beautiful; from the screams to the melodic pleas. Welcome new additions I noticed were, as previously mentioned, an almost Mars Volta type part as well as several verses that sound eerily similar to Smashing Pumpkins. But I do wish that it was longer. I was way excited for the 30 some odd min ending track, but was dissapointed when 30 of those minutes were just the metronome. But the little drum/electro beat at the end is pretty cool! I definitely reccommend this to any fan of Hardcore, The Bled, or just talented music!

Not Pass the Flask, but Equally Great
When a band puts out an amazing debut C.D., It is extremely rare that the sophomore one is anywhere near as talented. However, the Bled have managed to prove that sophomore albums aren't a kiss of death. Many Bled fans have griped that Found in the Flood isn't as good as Pass the Flask, however I beg to disagree. The main difference between the two albums is the vocals. Pass the flask was nothing but screaming, where the new C.D. does have a good amount of singing. Unlike most bands that have tried to pull it off and failed, the Bled have managed to integrate it beautifully into their style. As far as instrumentals go, it is CLEARLY still the band that brought us Pass the flask. Songs to check out on this album: My Assassin, She Calls Home, The Last American Cowboy. These songs are, in my opinion, the best on the C.D. Found in the Flood is an amazing sophomore album, and with such a solid second release, I have no doubts we'll be hearing about The Bled for a long time to come.

It's all relative
After seeing The Bled while visiting Denver, they completely blew me away. Got me back into real heavy music. "Flask" is one of the best heavy albums I've heard in years. This album is interesting. Much more musical with more singing and less screaming. I find it to be a nice change, but can understand why alot of "hardcore" fans don't dig it. Although most of the album is still pretty damn heavy, the riffs just don't seem nearly as ballsy as on "flask."To sum it up, this is a cd that will be easier to listen to with my girlfriend (which is cool), and will get more radioplay, however when I need a good rush I'll still probably go for the "Flask" first.

Great music, nuff said
Pure awesomeness. This CD is great. Between ETID, Emery, and this CD it gives me hope there is still good music coming out. They change up their sound but not in a bad hardcore to emo sort of way. They replace it by being a little experimental. They try the Mars Volta weirdness and replace some of the filler from Francis the Mute and replace it with hardcore riffs and screams. The Bled don't lose anything, they actually gain a lot. They are cutting themselves a nitch in the large hardcore scene. While metalcore and hardcore wannabe's are reproducing their records The Bled are changing and defining hardcore.Changing their sound works this time. While I think Pass the Flask was a testament to the hardcore scene, this cd also rocks hard and shows everyone that they can still put together a great cd without selling out.

great progression
a lot of people look at pass the flask as being original. i happen to find this album to be more original (although i cannot pick which one is better). a lot of bands seem to slack once they're picked up by a bigger label, but this band really took advantage of what they could do with better production. there can be connections made to radiohead, mars volta, refused, and many other 'odd' influences, all of which make this album sound very different from other hardcore/metal bands. if you like listening to bands experiment and push themselves creatively, this album is worth listening to. on the other hand, if for example you're one of those people that only enjoyed poison the well's first album, you probably won't like this.
