Nice product.
Works fine for project working on. Fairly light weight and easy to handle. Guide bar was not 90 degrees to plane angle when used. Noise level is bearable.

Get the PL 2632K Kit instead. Better product.
Get the PL 2632K Kit instead. It's a better planer and comes with a durable case as well for a similar price.

Another High Quality Bosch Tool
First power planer purchase to neatly trim doors instead of using a circular saw and guide...very happy I bought this. Smooth, easy set up and operation, as with my other Bosch tools. Well balanced with plenty of power to handle planing hollow-core and solid-wood doors. Warmed up on scrap wood...took a few times to get my technique pat to smoothly finish the last ~4 inches of the door edge (after the front of the planer had nothing left to rest on). Finish looks like it was done in the factory.

Great planner
I bought this planner because I wanted a quality planner. I was using a harbor freight planer. Obviously it wasn’t that great but it was very cheap and at the time I serve my purposes it’s a no-brainer, but the difference is not by quality.

OMG!
Has changed how I work with wood. Absolutely fantastic on taking cedar boards and making them smooth wit no need to sand. I bought the extra blades (tungsten?) for a future myrtle wood project, but haven’t needed them yet.

Great tool
Don’t know how I went this long without having one of these. Needed to resurface a door. Worked way better then sanding.

Great Value
This is the best planner I've used. Been Building S.F. D. s for 40 years and the Makita name is among the best. I wouldn't change a thing. If youre a home owner / part time woodworker, and don't need the tool to stand up to the rugged conditions of the Job Site then by all means get the 40.00 one, but if ya need it to take a lickin' and keep on tickin' this is the one

Retuned the item back to Illinois, came with US plug NOT UK.. to much hassle to convert. No problem with the refund 24hs after dispatch, money back. I'm sure it's a good planner for people in the states...

Delightful. Easy to figure out and use
I haven't owned a planer before and this is probably the most powery power tool in my garage. We needed this for cutting down some slab doors and I was able to figure this out with a quick youtube video. Its an easy tool to work with. Cord length is great and even with the length of a door, I could comfortably go the full distance even with room from the outlet. Cutting is smooth and the finished product has a super clean finish: not a hint of a snag at all. Even with the bag, it creates a lot of mess but the bag does a great job of containing the bulk of it. You can connect the planer to a shop vac to avoid the mess of cleaning the bag (it fills up fast!)

Excelente herramienta

The 1632 is a great unit.
Very smooth and accurate unit. Used it to plane rough milled pine as well as rough burnt walnut with ease. No clogging with dust extractor attached. Good weight allows the unit to do a good job without much downward pressure on pine (soft wood). Operation takes practice and good to use scrap for that purpose. Height adjustment is accurate. Blade is of good quality. Very nice results creates less sanding. Very pleased with the Bosch planer 1632. Does the job for a good price and replacement blades can be bought in Canada. Worth checking out.
