Ceramic Torch Crucible Dish Cup Tong Set Melting Pouring Casting Refining Gold Silver Copper

We're very happy with this purchase! This crucible is much better at retaining heat while melting metals than those small skinny dish type ones (we have those too and they work but we now prefer this one!). The holder is long enough to be a very safe distance from the flame, have enough control with your hold, and doesn't heat at all near the handle. Thicker crucible also means slower cooling, which means less potential for thermoshock cracks and glaze cracks. It stays glowing red longer, less heat dissipation. We were able to glaze with Borax from the laundry detergent aisle no problem, and it seemed easier to do than on the smaller dish style crucibles. We also hear less "tings" as the crucible cools. We couldn't get the glaze totally crack free but I'm sure it's user error and the crucible is 100% fine with no cracks after first use (only glaze surface cracks--still trying to figure out how to troubleshoot those). PMC in our experience was an awesome seller as well! They assisted us with a customer service request promptly and we would definitely repurchase from this seller/company again.

Perfect size for melting a few oz of bronze down with the torch. Pours in a controlled way. Be sure to season it before use with borax so metals don't stick to the porcelain. The holder grips the crucible firmly and is long enough to keep you away from the hot stuff.

As a 1st time caster I was looking for something inexpensive, sturdy, and easy to control. This unit fits the bill in all 3 areas. Price was where I wanted it. The unit has a nice feel. After seasoning, it is easy to control my pours. I would definitely recommend. Will be buying 3 more units for a total of 4. As I work in fine silver, sterling, gold, & copper. May be over kill but I think each metal deserves its own .

LOVING the new addition to my little forge. The ceramic smelting vessel is sturdy and performs well, did a pour with it after receiving and it is easy to manage with the handle. Will be buying again from this store!

I purchased this holder thinking it was adjustable for many size cupels. I found it's only useable for the cupel size they included, 3 inch size. Guess I'll switch from 2.5 inches to 3 inch and see how things work. The hand/holder seems well built. Hopefully it will last until I retire from mining.

Exactly as described. Remember to season with borax. Work well with torch but not well suited for a mini-foundry. Metal ring expands while inside mini-foundry and drops the crucible. DANGEROUS.

I have other crucibles and handles, but this one far surpasses all of them! Very easy to use, nice solid construction, and I can poor better because of the design of this. I also shop a ton from this seller and I have never had any issues, always high quality items, and great customer service! I highly recommend this crucible and the seller!
