I thought I was good at picking good saffron, but My mom is extremely picky about her saffron. She can tell the difference of good vs bad. I got this for her and a bit nervous cuz she rejected the other ones. Haha and she liked this one a lot. Strands were long, very fragrant, and she needed very little. Very good saffron.

Seems to be nice and fresh. If you won't be using it for long periods, I suggest that you take an extra step and store the "tightly closed" container in a good plastic storage bag with all the air squeezed from it before completely sealing it.

Excellent Quality and Real - Since Saffron is commonly faked since it is the most expensive pice (by weight), I like to leave reviews to help both inexperienced and experienced saffron buyers. I have encountered many fakes even at grocery stores. This is not a fake. Authenticity test include smelling and evaluating the threads by soaking in water. Fake saffron will do several things that will clearly identify them as fake. After adding a few threads to some water, the water should be bright yellow and clear while the threads will retain their dark color on the entire thread. Fake saffron will produce a water the is not quite as vibrant but also muddled. For fake, the dye soaks off and the threads start to disintegrate and some of the threads will turn a white color as the dye wears off. In the pictures, you will see the water is bright yellow and clear. The all of the threads stayed dark and retained their shape. I even took the threads out of the water on one picture to show NO disintegration. The smell was full and fresh plus it tasted wonderful. Lastly, you can see in the pictures great quantity. They did not skimp on the product as some places do not pack the full quantity as advertised. That was not the case with this one. Based on what I received, I highly recommend. You should be able to buy with confidence, that you are receiving, high guality authentic saffron.

I've purchased this saffron many times and it is now my go-to. The amount and quality provided is such a good deal! We were spending twice, if not triple for the same amounts at the grocery store, and sometimes left disappointed with the taste. We've used this brand in some of our traditional family dishes and the flavor really holds up. Definitely worth it.

I buy a couple of ounces of saffron each year and have been buying for over 20 years. Have tried countless brands and saffrons from every place in the world. I have written several reviews here on Amazon as well. This is good stuff, one of the best I bought online. For the last 2-3 years, there are several Persian and Afghani saffron vendors on Amazon. Almost all of them are above average quality, no doubt. I bought Iranian saffron on Amazon from Lidoma, Zaran and Golden, Afghani saffron from Redsaf. All of them were good to great quality saffrons. My bench mark used to be coupe spanish saffron from Costco online. They do have one of the best saffrons out there and each bottle comes with actual lab analysis report. I never got anything below the score of 230 and often over 250. This one is definitely 250+ quality and the aroma is so intense that I would rate it the best I have come across. Threads are of average size but overall quality is excellent. Almost all vendors begin with attractive pricing and once they establish themselves, the price goes up. There are several Persian saffron vendors on Amazon and most of them have good stuff. Hope the competition brings out the best. Only issue I have is it was supposed to be used for a Thanksagiving special dish, it was supposed to arrive on time but it did not. Shipping was soppy and did not serve the purpose. It is the seller or Amazon logistics issue that has nothing to do with the quality of the product. Nevertheless, no excuse for failing to fulfil the promise on delivery.

Honestly, this product was not really impressive. The color seems kinda artificial because I've worked with other saffron before and this just seems so red and in a way synthetic. Although I wouldn't say this is a bad product. The fragrance is kinda there and so is the coloring when used so it does have its purpose. Although keep in mind that finding saffron in this part of the world that use top quality is very difficult. That but also because of its cheap cost you can use more and get a decent effect because top-shelf saffron costs a ton of money. Would I buy this product again? I would probably explore other saffron brands but this product was exactly a 3/5 review.

I used to be neighbors with someone who cooked traditional Persian dishes and shared with us on many occasions. I just loved the rice dishes that were laced with a saffron drizzle and learned to make my favorites. I’m no connoisseur of spices but I know when they are fresh, colorful, and fragrant they are probably of good quality. This saffron is all of those things! Will purchase again.
