I’ve been drumming for over 20yrs & admittedly, I’m on the louder side of drummers. I was hoping this would make band practice easier. I’ve only used them for 1 four hour practice & there’s not a mark on them, so seem durable. I measured the decibels before & after using them. They reduce the volume of cymbals by about 10dB which is good for practice. But they increase the sound of the drums (due to the extra weight) by 5-10dB.

To be honest, I wouldn't bother. They definitely don't mute the drums, they muffle your cymbals but if anything they make the drums louder as they give your stick more of a mallet effect. Tried them and then put them on the shelf

if you want to have mute function, you are better not buy it as it is functionless. Waste your money.

I play the tongue drum. These dampeners work well as long you don’t push the stick in them all the way. I keep the heads hollow and that makes all the difference in the volume of the sound… I don’t know how long they will last since I just received them recently, but they appear to be quite sturdy. They are a great buy and I believe they are worth every penny I spent on them. I was skeptical, but I love them. My neighbours will love them as well! :)
