Finally Back In Stock!
Functional. I cleaned out the document vault of a former employer and yes, these are not as robust as binders from decades ago (things dated 70's-90's). Nor are they as nice because back then they rivetted a little leather pull piece to the front of the binder to assist with removing it from the sleeve and the steel loops seem a little stiffer/robust. That said, these are well enough made that, unless purposefully abused, should last a few years or a couple decades. These will work for accounting just fine.

Sturdy enough for daily use
Much sturdier than less expensive offerings from ACCO, Staples etc. If you want something that will hold up to daily use without bending out of shape even when nearly full, well worth the extra expense. They are not widely available and pricing can vary widely. Amazon sellers generally have competitive pricing in my experience.I wish they would include the label separately so that it could be created on the computer and laser printed; another idea would be to have a pocket so that the label could be changed as necessary.

Order frustration
We found it VERY frustrating when trying to order fiberboard binding cases directly from vendors. NONE of them would accept an order to be shipped to Alaska! Since when are we not a part of the United States economy?! One vendor would not even ship the order to a Washington state address so that it could be forwarded to us when the address on the credit card was in Alaska.Thank you for accepting our credit card for Alaska and shipping the order to a Washington state address. A friend then shipped the order on to us.However, we would be even happier if you could be set up to accept shipments to Alaska. We know it costs more to get things here, and we are willing to pay the extra. It is inconvenient, to say the least, to have to bother a friend or colleague in the lower 48, to have to ship things on to us.Thank you for considering a revision in your Alaska shipment policy.Sharon Staddon, TreasurerAlaska Conference of Seventh-day Adventists

Defective
I've used these cases for years. This shipment was missing the rectangular bracket that should have been mounted inside the back cover. This bracket is needed to secure the binding rings to the cover - without it, the product is useless. The defect is invisible until assembly is attempted.

Love these old-fashioned products
Love these old-fashioned products, but the quality just isn't there. Both the box and the insert are made of quite flimsy cardboard. It would be wonderful if it was just a little sturdier!

I can recommend them.
These binders perfectly fitted our need for accounting document filing purposes. The price was one third less than the other providers for the same product. So, for the price and the need, I can recommend them.

Thinner than I would like but it works
Let’s begin with the CONS:It is thinner than I would like. I would prefer that it be slightly more rigid.PROS:The rings are so easy to open. You simply squeeze them together a little bit.I love the Kraft color. It is a little cumbersome trying to slide the binder in and out of the box, but the box is convenient if setting it on a shelf. I don’t use the box. I just lay it in a drawer.
