good replacement pads for my tens unit

This is the best Tins unit I've ever has works great

Would have given 5 stars but for some reservations centering on marketing issue. Here it is. This is the same unit as they sell on Amazon for $39.99. The difference? It includes 8 single patch electrodes and 4 double patch electrodes. That's a hefty $30.00 price increase for some electrodes that can be bought for much less.The unit itself is very good with lots of TENS and EMS settings, etc. I purchased this because it was one of the more reasonably priced units that had settings based on numbers rather than pictures with captions corresponding to various massage techniques like "cupping," making it difficult to know if this might be the setting needed unless you might have been familiar with massage, maybe.In general all of the TENS units I looked through provided minimal information on what types of setting you might be getting and what they might be good for. This information ought to be provided, and this unit also fell into that category.Some units use a charger (good) but many, like this one use batteries (not so good). Still, I got this one for the numerical settings. The manual explains them much better.If I were to be starting from scratch, I would get the $39.99 version, but I'm willingly keeping this one.Addendum: 4/9/17 Good and badNow understand the settings better on TENS (pain relief) and EMS (for physical strengthening, among other things). Works well for both and can provide surprisingly intense electrical stimulation that work well for me.If you buy smaller pads for future use, such as those sold from China on EBay, you might find that the settings that were satisfactory with larger pads seem much stronger on these. Just adjust down to a more comfortable level.BUT****>> Weasel marketing insert offering "free pads" -- just follow the multi-step, multi-webpage process that is impossible to follow to completion for the "free pads." This certainly does not lead to any positive feelings about buying pads from this outfit in the future.

I currently own 2 iRelieve tens units. One that takes AAA Batteries and one that is rechargeable. I have rechargeable Panasonic Eneloop batteries (which are fantastic) so I am comparing the functionality of both units. First, both are FSA Eligible which is awesome! That being said the buttons on this unit have held up extremely well and is made much better than the rechargeable iRelieve tens unit (buttons that don’t push in are pictured). I have had both types of tens units for over two years and the rechargeable unit recently started giving me issues. For example the buttons on the rechargeable unit are piston push like the tens unit that takes batteries, but the pistons stopped working on the cheaper made rechargeable unit. For now when I tap on the buttons the rechargeable tens unit the function works but I believe it’s only a matter of time before it stops working completely. As a result, I think the battery powered iRelieve tens unit is much better constructed and far more compact than the rechargeable version. And now is a great time to invest in rechargeable batteries, like the panasonic Eneloop batteries as they have lasted me over 5 years and still going strong. Reusing the same batteries has to be better for the environment right! Overall the battery powered version is more compact and made far superior than the rechargeable version at equal price. The pads are a 3 out of 5 as far as adhesive but I don’t think you can do any better right now. I haven’t found extra strength adhesive pads and don’t think they exist yet. The pads are basically made to be used while seated and keeping movement down to a minimal.

Bought this for chronic mostly muscular back pain.The main control unit is pretty small, about 2 x 3.5 inches. Comes with 3 AAA batteries. Hardly weighs anything even with battery installed. Display is good, but is not backlit. There are 2 electrodes plugs on top. Each electrode split into 2 pins that plug into the contact patches. Electrical current cycles between the 2 pins, causing the EMS or TENS effect. You can run one electrode at a time, but that electrode has to have contact patches plugged in in order to work. You get 4 packages of contact patches. The first two packages each have four 1.5 inch pads. Again, you'll need 2 patches per electrode. The patches have a sticky adhesive and comes stuck on a plastic sheet. You remove the pads, plug it in to the electrodes. When done you peel it off your skin, then stick it back onto the plastic sheet for storage. According to the label, each pad last up to 30 uses. The second set of two packages each contain 2 larger contact pads that measure about 3 x 5 inches.Usage is super simple. The manual is excellent. I looked at it briefly. There are 2 basic modes. TENS and EMS. There are 8 preprogrammed TENS modes, and 6 preprogrammed EMS modes. The manual does a good job differentiating the different modes. There's no way to program you own modes. Each electrode has intensity setting that goes from 0 to 25. Then the last function is the timer. You can set the duration of use, and the unit turns off afterwards.I've used this now for a couple of days. What's it like? First the TENS modes feels almost like tiny needle sticks that cause a tiny bit of surface muscle fascination The EMS modes feels similar, causing mostly muscle contraction, but not so much the pin prick sensation.Does it work? Frankly I've not used it enough to really say. Though this technology has been well researched. I do feel that my muscles are just a bit more relaxed and I do think I feel less pain. It's not an astounding effect like taking a good pain pill. But I think the effect will build over time.Overall I like the unit. It does what it's designed to do. It's easy to use, small, and relatively inexpensive. Apparent quality of the unit is good also.
