A Guide for Using The Outsiders in the Classroom Teacher's Guide ed. Edition

This tiny book is CRAM PACKED full of awesome lesson ideas, activities, and quizzes. I used it for my unit on “The Outsiders” in 8th grade ELA and it paired perfectly. There is also vocabulary! Great resource, 10/10 recommend.

I teach an eighth-grade resource center ELA class. This guide has helped me break down the story for my students and provides focused discussion points, comprehension questions, and essay topics that I can easily modify for my population.

This classroom guide helped my fifth grader reinforce concepts and details from S.E. Hinton's book. Helpful for home study and am sure it would be beneficial for the practice tests and project ideas in a classroom. However, this book was too juvenile for my eighth grader.

I taught this novel to my students. Your guide provided me with a lot of fun activities to use with my students. The activities were wonderful. I enjoyed using the guide.

The Outsiders book is the reading assignment for our 7th grade advanced classes. But the teaching guide is for very young children, who I cannot imagine understanding the novel anyway. That is why this workbook is confusing to me. I would not have thought the Outsiders would have had a target audience younger than upper middle schoolers. Some of the activities involve having the class learn to do a cartwheel and a somersault (since one of the book's characters was a gymnast?) and a coloring book section.

Very helpful for first time teaching this novel. Great springboard for seasoned teachers. I love the fact that it is a time saver and has an answer key!

I used this guide with my students reading "The Outsiders."

This has sectional short answer questions and activities that are decent for middle school students. It offers more ideas than are possible to complete during a unit. I especially like the character building ideas.
