You receive a total of 48 batteries in this "Pack of 2, 24/pack"

How long do these last in storage?

I'd guess 6 or more years. I bought some in January 2018. They're marked on the batteries as good until 2024. I've had no problems with them.

i have bought these battries for a couple years, and they were packed in individual 4 packs, why have they stopped doing that?

Hi, I may offer a guess... The new LED lights operate at 3.7 volts and usually need 2 AA batteries ???. The "pro series batteries" are the ones we bought for use in the Police and Fire Dept and emergency services. "All the guys", (guys and girls being "the same, considered equal once in uniform, ok?" as per the new rules). Almost all of us are using the LED lights now, as such that means we only need 2 batteries and nor 4 like we did with the older style hand , helmet and portable/personal lights. That would be my guess, God bless !!!, Dr. G. aka, MedFlightDoc...
