Frustrated
Have a 30k pool 540 was supposed to be more than sufficient. With all chemical levels correct it would not make measureal chlorine. Called manufacturer they suggested i need a upgrade to the 760 for 60k gallon pools. Cost an additional 200 + dollars. Still made no measureable chlorine. Sent out service tech replaced salt cell. Better. Still not right. Not sure about this unit. At least manufactrer seems to be trying to help.

Easy to install
Replaced our old salt generator because it was not producing chlorine. This system was newer and more up to date. We even went a little bigger than our other salt generator and now we run our pool at 25% rather than 100% to produce chlorine. Husband was able to hook everything up within 30 minutes.

Four Stars
Update!!!! It's been installed for 1 year and I have dropped the output to 50% (hopefully last longer) and it's still putting out chlorine at good levels, I have only had to take it out once to clean the plates. Much better than the old Jandy setup.I just installed it yesterday seem to go in okay. Will check again in a week for Clorine output.

Just wow… so disappointed
So, we’ve had this unit for a few years. In that time, the plastic housing for the cell has cracked and replaced three times, the salt cell failed at least three times, the collar that holds it in fails annually, and we replaced the control unit 5 times, one of which caught fire in from of my face. Now the good news, warranty has been good, if not a but painfully slow.We bought this unit becuase it was designed and built for Arizona… well, it won’t put up wit Arizona, even with sun only 1/3 of the day.

Great design and functioning unit, no support outside of the warranty period - expensive investment
Have had the previous model SG3000 (same rating as this newer model, but basically the same unit) and now have to shop for another unit after only 6 years (comes with 5 year warranty of course!). Many traits I love about the unit, simple to work on, seeing the cell work through the clear housing is great. Produces nicely when working. History: After two years, the original cell went bad, they replaced at no charge thru local pool store (had to order it). This cell went bad at 5.5 years, no warranty. Had to buy on my own $400. Chemistry all good both times. Now, near the anniversary of the 6th year, the status light comes on (amber) and does not produce. Cell works on another unit just fine, SGS customer service says it must be the transformer unit. They will not service it or cell me any parts, i must go through dealer. No one I contacted will service the unit, they can order parts but expensive experiment if you don't know which component to replace (dealers charge big for parts). There is one large coil, a small red circuit board, and the display board, very few parts inside the unit. After some research, it appears I must replace the whole unit to get chlorine again. So, be aware of the costs involved. Basically, I got 6 years out of the unit with one out of pocket cell replacement, in all $1,300 (spread this cost over six years). So, buyer be aware of the lack of service after the sale.I recommended this unit to several friends early on, hopefully theirs will last longer.

Does not last, warranty is prorated and not good
Cell lasted 2.5 seasons, installed half way first season. Worked well while it lasted. Properly cleaned and was never used below 70F water temperature. At the start of fourth season - one anode attachment is completely gone, another attachment is 70% gone (mean electricity cannot get to anode). From engineering point of view, the cell has a weak spot, and it is not made to last long. So I call customer service - it has 5 year warranty. I am told my replacement cost is 60% of full system value ($900*0.6% = $540). I can buy replacement cell for cheaper without warranty. The unit is designed to last 3 seasons and then "warranty" replacement cell cost is more than other systems new on the market. I am all for American engineered and made stuff, but I cannot / do not recommend the Breeze 540 system.

New generator only lasted a few years
I purchased a brand new 540. I had many problems and the service was great - replaced the cell a couple of times as well as the motherboard. Eventually, they stopped replacing parts or trying to fix it. I fed my pool tablets and shock manually for nearly two years before breaking down and buying another brand. What I loved about the Breeze: the clear cell, the customer service when it was brand new, and that it worked for roughly 2-3 years. What I disliked about the Breeze: the customer service sharply turned later, the required salt level is one of the highest on the market (and not needed), and even after a couple of years feeding tablets manually to keep the pool going, I've now had to purchase another brand generator all under 5 years from when I made this really, really, expensive 'investment.' I do not recommend.

Weeks before it blew it was running at 100% and the cell wasn't looking to good even after cleaning
I had filed for a warranty replacement on the 540 within months before the warranty ran out. I received a new Chlorinator cell insert. 3 years later it literally exploded (picture to prove). Weeks before it blew it was running at 100% and the cell wasn't looking to good even after cleaning. Now I have a project on my hands. Overall it worked OK (never great) until it didn't work at all and blew up.
