A lot of the reviews state that coat is very warm. Can anyone give specifics on the temps/climate to which you are referring? Thanks!

I bought this coat this season and I am very glad I did. We have had some -30+ windchills already here in Fargo. For the northern plains, it’s not the cold, it’s the windchill. This coat has done an incredible job of blocking the wind. On subzero days I throw on a light fleece and I am set for the wind. On days without the fleece, I love that I can go shopping for hours and not sweat to death or have to carry a huge coat around. I don’t know how it does it, but it is almost like having a coat with a thermostat. I love it!

Does this coat work for extremely cold winters?

NO, it's not for me in very cold weather in St. Louis (general wear). I get cold easily and the wind gets through. The coat only works well enough for me on milder winter days (temperature feel of around 40 degrees F), and that's with two tight layers underneath. It's VERY lightweight with a thin hood that has no adjusters. I like it, though, but need a heavier coat on many days.

Does it run big or small?

I disagree. I wear a 16/18 (xl) in every coat I’ve owned since putting on weight and I had to return mine. I could get it on,but in order to zip it up I would’ve had to pull it up over my butt. Not doing that for almost 200$ then it would’ve been tight anyway. As far as everything else I loved it! I’m in Chicago and it gets very cold here and my friend has the exact same one and she’s worn it through really rough winters which is why I chose to purchase it. I’m afraid to order the next size up because I think it’ll be too big.

Does it have windstop? Is it windproof?

I’ve worn this coat in windy cold weather and stayed VERY warm. Hood does not stay up in windy weather but I wear a taboggan so it doesn’t bother me. I’ve worn it in single digit temps but no less than that. It always gets the job done.
