Doesn't fit
These caps did not fit onto a 2.5 gallon metal gas can. Before purchasing, I asked the question, "Will this fit Eagle-style vintage metal gas cans that take a 2.5" cap?" I received from the seller (Hudson Exchange) the answer, "Of course." The correct answer should have been "Of course NOT." These caps appear well made, but they are useless if they don't fit. They are too small to fit my 2.5 John Deere gas can and/or the threads are all wrong. I have no idea what they do fit, but looking at all of the other negative reviews, I'm guessing "not much."

Don't Buy!!!
Tried these caps on 2 different 5 gallon cans and 2 2/12 gallon cans and not cloce to fitting. Whatever cans these caps fit must be very old cans or in some other country. I did not return since not worth the effort.
