Eco-friendly, can be used indoors, and it *works*. Takes a little finessing to get the page not to warp, but it's possible.
I use this on graphite pencil drawings on smooth-finished 74 lb (120 gsm) paper.First: rubbing (isopropyl) alcohol works just fine; it doesn't have to be grain alcohol. Second: don't use anything lower than 180 proof (90% alcohol). Go higher if you can. Third: fixative sprays always advise you to spray lightly and then do a second coat. That's *really* important in this case. Fourth, be prepared to hold the paper taut/flat for a minute while the alcohol evaporates, and possibly to press it under something heavy and flat afterward as well. Fifth, this is not a workable fixative after the 2nd coat. It is a fixed fixative. Sixth: The label recommends a 1:8 ratio of concentrate to alcohol, but it's worth experimenting with 1:7 or 1:6 if you don't like your first results.Bottom line is, this absolutely works, and it is absolutely glorious to have something that A: isn't killing the ozone layer, brain cells, or life as we know it, and B: can be used indoors with no scent except a bit of evaporating alcohol. It's also good value for money. I'm really, really happy with it.However, even with 91% rubbing alcohol, it's a little damper than something like Krylon, and can cause even medium-heavy paper to buckle if you don't take precautions. It's also a little harder to make sure you're getting an even coat with something you have to squirt rathe than a continuous spray from an aerosol, but a little practice and a little patience deals with that. Don't use it on your most priceless artwork the first time you mix it up, and you should be fine.

I love this stuff.
I mixed 91% alcohol with 7 to 1 part product in a hair mister and sprayed twice with 30 minutes drying time in between on chalk pastels. My lights stayed light and my darks stayed dark. I use Faber Castelle and Prismacolor Nupastel and both performed well. However on my oil pastels I have had good luck with a can of clear laquer from the hardware store, which has the added benefit of hardening the oil pastel. All my work is for greeting cards so it has to be stabilized to insert and mail in an envelope.

Doesn't leave spots or discolor artwork
Works well as pastel fixative without changing color or leaving spots! I bought this spray bottle to dispense it: https://www.amazon.com/dp/B00D7BJ6MW/ref=cm_cr_ryp_prd_ttl_sol_24

well...
First of all, it was my bad that didn't read the description that this one does not come with sprayer and alcohol.Second, I got spray bottle and Ever clear (I don't want to use rubbing alcohol since it is a larger molecule and may slow down the evaporation rate). And I use the ratio roughly between 1:7 to 1:8. The mixture is cloudy liquid. Then I sprayed it. Then I found out the color turned so deep. So deep that I couldn't even tell where is the background and where is the model's hair. Unfortunately I forgot to save a photo before spray. I was so excited. :D I used two coats. When it dried. The color didn't return all the way back to where it was (before spray) and some lighter area had been washed off a little bit therefore I could see my under drawing, more or less.Next, I have to rework on my drawing try to make it lighter. Despite what other reviewer said, I can definitely rework on it even after two coats. I'm able to bring back the highlight gently without destroy other section. The final result might not be as perfect as it was, but at least I think I saved it. So at this point, I think I can use this spray to fix background and under drawing first. Let it dry. And then I'll work on detail and highlight. And after that, I might not even want to spray my final pastel drawing. At least not now, I'll think about it. LOL

It works and it is not toxic.
I am very happy with the results I got with this product. It fixes the pastel and it doesn't stink and is not toxic.

Okay product
This product is good, I had to apply a few applications to my charcoal drawing though, hair spray also works really well though an doesn't cost as much. Sorry.
