Great cleaner for the inground pool
Had to replace my Barracuda and this was the best choice for my budget. Had a Hayward many years ago so I knew it was good quality.

THIS IS THE ONE!! AT LAST MY SEARCH IS OVER!
I went through like 4 other pool cleaners before landing on this one. Its been a long time coming, and I'm so happy my search is finally over. I ordered this on September 16, 2023, so its coming up on a year and I've had 0 problems with this. I had used the suction ones that skim the bottom of the floor, to the zodiac ones with monster truck wheels that climb up the walls. Each one with their own challenges for my pool.I have two trees in the backyard and my neighbors have big trees so its quite common to get leaves in my pool. The skimmer gets most of it but I needed something that would suck up small/regular sized leaves. The thing I love about this model is that you can adjust the sensitivity to make it climb walls or not. I have it set to not climb as I've had issues with other cleaners climbing out of the water (which caused $$$ repair/replacement to my pool pump!).This cleaner glides around the bottom of my pool, it eats up leaves and keeps the floor looking clean. It doesn't get stuck, the suction is great, and lastly... sometimes it eats a seed or something from my palm trees and that stops the suction. On the bottom there is a small screw that you can unscrew to clean out anything that is blocking suction.I love this thing!!

Never Again - Would Give -10 if possible
I used to have Hayward Navigator and had nothing bad to say. This generation of Navigator, unless mine was a one-off, has been horrible. After it's first 4 - 6 wks, this one stopped climbing the walls. Then it was failing to run a good pattern so it missed a lot of the pool floor area. I have had to replace the gear box twice and feet and flippers 3X. New Hayward parts Gear box, tests ok during install (turns both directions) but within 3 days goes to turning only one direction. It still won't climb walls, and now within an hour of starting from a straight hose, winds up against the deep end wall, with hose all twisted up and the vacuum going nowhere. I've tested and adjusted for water flow and adjusted the pressure flow screw, per the manual installationsl and troubleshooting several times, all to no avail. Including on-line videos or suggestions. This continues to be extremely aggravating on a daily basis, thus compelled me to write this review. Every morning untwisting the hose, knowing it's going to be in same spot in 15 mins. When I can, I'll be replacing this with another brand entirely after this disaster.

Works well!
I researched and researched pool vacuums, some 100s of $, but most were 1k plus. That being said, this pool vacuum is priced nicely and works great! Came well packaged, with clear instructions. She moves slowly but my pool looks great.

My first one lasted over 8 years. This is my second one.
I actually paid a few extra dollars to keep my first Hayward navigator going, but it lasted me for over 8 years. However, recently whatever I tried to fix it, I would have had to turn it in again for maybe another $100 fix. So, we decided to just buy a new one. And, it turned out to be the best thing. This new Hayward navigator is working the way the first one did 10 years ago. We kept the old one for parts. The old one was just not moving right. This one goes up the pool sides (once adjusted properly) and goes in circles all along the pool to make a complete cleanup on the bottom. The price seems a little hefty to me for such a simple product ($350), but when there's nothing else out there to do the job, I guess you just have to pay the price. All in all, this little machine does the job for around 10 years.

Affordable and effective
Overall very happy with the machine. Simple, compact design and easy to install out of the box. In my case, the dedicated vacuum line in my pool achieves minimal suction for this device - so it does not climb the walls. The box comes with a spring loaded device to test the suction where you plan to plug in the vacuum. If it shows minimum suction, don't expect it to climb walls. It does do a great job on the pool bottom however.

Navigator pool vacuum
I have purchased several of these vacuums in the past and had good experiences with them. This time, however, I used it for a few hours and noticed that it was not working properly. I took it out of the pool and took a cover off to look inside and found a piece had come off the inside and a small mounting screw was also found. Very disappointing, luckily I was able to put the piece and the screw back in and tightened them properly. This was poor workmanship from the manufacturer. Disappointing.
