Maine Lighthouses Illustrated Map & Guide

I like this map. It is, people, a "map", not a book, not a big ol' laminated sheet of plastic. Yes, it will wear. BUT, it is a good map and here's why: It has the entire map on one side, and detailed descriptions on the other, which include a brief history of each lighthouse, the best views for it, and directions on how to get there. What else do you need/can you expect in a map? We are getting ready to head to Maine for a month, and I am very excited about having all this lighthouse information in a relatively small package. I was wanting a map with lighthouse locations as well as route numbers for an upcoming trip along the coast . This coated map does exactly what I needed it to do by showing the entire coastline with lights not only notated, but also highlighted with large closeup depictions--all on one side. The legends on the reverse side provide history, viewpoints, directions, and more. In all, a whole lot of information packed into a featherweight pocketable reference guide. Would recommend this to future visitors to the coast, especially photographers.

This map is really comprehensive without being confusing. I also love that the images are watercolor images of the lighthouses instead of photos. They're really nice and accurate portrayals of the lighthouses. It's a great map. I read a bunch of reviews before buying and I'm glad I ignored the negative reviews and went for it. It has all the lighthouses and uses different colors to tell you whether they are still standing or not and whether they are still being utilized today or not. Great map!

Not sure where you could go wrong with a map, but this was great! I bought my dad a book of Haunted Maine Lighthouses and opened this up to star the ones that were in the book. He loved that and when I was able to fold it back up on the first try, he told me I must be a witch haha

This gives me all I need to find the lighthouses and a brief history. I like the fact that it is put together like a map and can be use as such. It makes finding the Lighthouse much easier.

If you hit the highway from Boston to Bar Harbor like we did, get this and make a few stops. This was the perfect map to get us to many lighthouses as part of our tour to Acadia National Park and no two are alike, there so many to choose from. We recommend Portland head and Cape Neddick for a must see!

The map itself is great. Love the colorful detail and design. Slightly torn on two edges upon arrival. Not sure if this was an older beat up addition or what but the rips were small enough to allow this map to still be pretty nice. Map is larger than I remembered when I almost bought it last visit.
