The media could not be loaded. This equipment produces beautiful light with easy adjustments for brightness and cool/warm white balance. However, the on/off switch became temperamental in mid-December, about 6-weeks after I first opened the box in late October 2020. Sometimes the rocker switch wouldn't immediately turn the unit on, so I'd need to switch it "off" and then "on" again to get it to work. This wasn't a big deal to me, although with hindsight, I should have been less accommodating of this quality flaw. In late January, about 3-months after I received the lighting system, the light began turning off in the midst of using it. This was not due to an overheat situation as this randomly occurs within moments after the system is activated or 30+ minutes after it's being used. This lighting unit sits pristinely on a desk and has never been transported beyond the original shipping, so this isn't operational handling damage, simply a poor quality on/off switch. I sent a trouble ticket to the manufacturer at the start of February 2021, and received a quick response from them via email asking for my order number and a video of the issue. I responded on February 10 with the order info and video, and on February 20, they asked for my mailing address to send me a replacement unit, which I provided the same day). On February 23, they committed via email to sending me the replacement unit, and it's been silence ever since (today is March 22, 2021). I would love to give this system 5-stars, but the faulty switch and slow action to address give me pause recommending it to others. I'm giving it 1-star because it's a beautiful piece of equipment, but with a lousy on/off switch that randomly cuts off operation. I'll update this review when if I hear from the manufacturer.Update (March 24,2021): I received a UPS tracking number today for a replacement part. Once it arrives, I’ll provide an update and reevaluate the overall rating. Fingers crossed.Update (April 10): I received the replacement 2-weeks ago, and it’s been working great with near daily operation. I’m once again impressed with the quality of the equipment. I’ve had no issues, and I’ll update my review in about 2-months. I’ve upgraded my rating to 4 stars, and if the light continues doing its beautiful work, I hope to rate it at 5 stars.Since getting the replacement, this has been a top notch piece of equipment. I’m updating my rating to 5 stars.

In today's day and age, quality photos and videos are a must. I found myself struggling to get adequate lighting during my video conferences, as the natural lighting I was trying to use either washed me out or completely darkened the frame. In discussing this issue with my co-workers, one recommended that I look into purchasing a ring light. After some research, I decided on this star ring light kit.I love that it has 6 detachable light bars which I can position based upon the current room lighting to really enhance the light projection and range. The ring light puts out a lot of power with its 90w power and its 480 SMD lamp beads. The hue and color temperature of the lighting is easily adjusted, ranging all the way from 3200k-5600k, as well as being dimmable, all of which is adjusted on the easy to read digital display.The ring stand stands on 3 legs made from aluminum alloy which provides for great stability and mobility, and can be adjusted from 32 inches tall all the way up to 87 inches tall! Depending on where I am at the time, I can either set the light up on my desk or on the floor near me, which allows me to always find the best location for the lighting.

This kit has all of the features I was looking for in a new ring light and then some. The main thing I wanted was a light that had brightness and temperature controls, and maybe an included stand. However, once I saw what this kit included I had to have it.The most notable inclusion would have to be the light bars. I’ve seen individual light bars sell for $40 or so each, so the fact that this kit has six is great. Even better, you can even use two of the bars separately from the main unit. Now I can properly set up three point lighting.One nice thing about this ring light is that it has a proper tripod mount. My other ring light is nice and all, but it needs to be used with a dedicated light stand or some other rod with the right diameter. The two cold shoe mounts on the main ring are also nice, since that means I can still use my external mic without issue.If I have one complaint about this kit, it would be the fact that the temperature of the light changes very slowly. That’s not really a problem, but I did spend a bit of time thinking the temperature controls were broken. I just kept spinning them thinking that it was having an effect, when in reality I just needed to be patient.All in all, this was a great grab for the money.

Doesn’t come with a mount for phone! Only a camera, even when the pictures clearly show a phone mount.

I got this as a gift from another photographer friend, and it’s a great light - portable, easy to use, great results!
