Love this litter
Bought other brands and they had a lot of hard wood pieces. This brand is great has no big wood pieces and seems softer to the touch. My bunny loves it! Also less dust and smell than other brands then I tried.

Good quality Aspen
Good value for money, and seems good quality. I've gotten it from this seller a few times now and I haven't found any foreign objects in it and it was clean when it arrived, and stores well for me. Dusty, but all aspen seems to be dusty, and this one is better than others I've tried. My snake seems happy with it, and thanks to the bulk deal it's easier to fill his tank so he can dig plenty of tunnels.

Smells like mulch or animal waste
Great but the batch I got smells like mulch or a farm with animal waste. I do like the bedding better, at least for rats. The aspen pieces are bigger so they don’t get caught/imbedded in the carpet and such. It’s also less dusty but still have to sift it first. I did find a few large/sharp pieces in there but I just picked them out. I check anyways when I sift itI just can’t stand the smell! And now my rats smell like cow you know what. I hope I just got a bad batch maybe? Will try again for sure but won’t a third if it still smells like this!

Great substrate for growing oyster mushrooms on
Put in a 5 gal bucket. Dump a giant stock pot of boiling water into bucket until it begins to overflow.Snap tight lid on and wrap in a warm blanket or sleeping bag. Let sit overnight before pouring off the extra water..With rubber gloves pack the chipslurry into a second 5 gal bucket with 1/4 inch holes drilled every 3 or so inches all over it (along bottom, all ip and down the sides, and the lid) to make a three inch layer.Add in chunks of broken up oyster mushroom spawn. Cover with more chips. Make an aspen chip layer cake of chops then spawn and repeat until you get to the top. Topmost layer be sure to make it the chips. This is a ghetto but viable pasteurization method for a large bucket's worth of mushroom substrate. Wont 100% sterilize, but it'll kill off substantial amounts of competing molda, fungi, bacteria on the chips as well as soften the wood cellulose making it easier for mycelium to break down and penitrate.Place in a shaded but slightly warmer room temperature area of your house. Garage. Shed. Whatever.Let sit for 2 to 4 weeks before opening up the lid and looking for mycelium establishment.Ive made dozens of these using these chips. They can be stackable if you have several buckets.Use the internet to figure out how tk trigger a change in their environment suited to force them to begin pinning and fruiting out MASSIVE flushes of oyster shrooms. And yes those tiny drilled holes are more than big enough to accommodate the biggest effing mushroom clusters.Rock on!

Lasts forever, neutralizes smells, very minimal dust
I have a pretty big Midwest Habitat cage for my guinea pig. I originally used fleece bedding that was just too much of a pain to keep washing over and over. I was worried this type of bedding would just end up all over my floor and while he does kick some of it out it's way easier to keep up with than the fleece laundry nightmare lol. Plus within a day or two with the fleece I was smelling the pee (I think because of summer humidity as it wasn't that bad over the winter). This bedding keeps his cage smelling fresh between cleanings and I'm not seeing any staining on the canvas cage lining so it definitely soaks up his pee well. And this bag lasts forever. Barely makes a dent in the bag when I completely fill his cage with new bedding. If you get the big bag like I did it can be a bit awkward holding it over the cage to fill it (scooping from bag to cage gets it on my carpet so I prefer the other way) but I am a small woman and not very strong. All bedding has a bit of dust but it is really very minimal with this stuff. I love it.

Fantastic substrate for snakes
I've started using this aspen substrate for all of my King and Milk snakes. It provides great odor and moisture control and is easy to clean as necessary. It is very low dust and has a great consistency. The snakes are able to burrow in and make tunnels that hold their shape. The large packages are a great value. I highly recommend this aspen bedding for snakes, reptiles and rodents.
