Necessary for shallow SD slots
Great adapter for a Windows laptop that has a shallow SD slot. Unsure why so many electronics have them as opposed to a fully flush port. No issues with contacts or read/write.

Works great in my surface book.
works great in my surface book, sticks out almost 2mm, but not enough to snag and just enough to get out easily if needed. compared to another brand that costs nearly $30, this is a good deal.

Works but…
It fit perfectly on my old 2012 MacBook Pro 15” but it sometimes doesn’t connect to the Mac.

It came apart when i stuck the SD Card in it.
I would not recommend this product at all, I get that i only payed $5 for it but you would atleast expect it to last more then one use. Even if it did stay together it was still to Big for my Computers SD Slot. I have a A1502 13' MacBook Pro Mid 2014.

Better option than the higher price competitor
I've been looking for a lower price Micro SD TF to SD Card Kit Mini Adaptor for Extra Storage and found this it stick out just a little bit but that's ok the description say its for Apple Macbook but I'm using it on my surface book works great.

Fits but still protrudes from the side of the computer
Was looking for a flush mount adapter. This is much better than a standard micro SD adapter for an older MacBook Pro but just isn’t as shallow as I had hoped.

smaller than most adapters
This mini memory card adapter is smaller than most adapters. It still ticks out a little when used. Not bad much better than the normal adapter.

NOT a true MiniSD card adaptor. Beware!
Buyer beware: this is NOT a MiniSD card adaptor. It's a full size SD card format, just cut to half length. This adaptor will NOT fit into a MiniSD card slot. This made it useless for my purpose on an old camcorder. Don't expect this to work in a MiniSD device. I had to return this adaptor as it's not what it's stated to be.

Works great! Connected to my Macbook Air permanently.
This is a wonderful adapter. I use it with a micro-SD card on my Macbook Air for a year now, and it's permanently attached. I use it as an expansion drive. The small profile is perfect. Only the round part sticks out, as if it's not really there. I have no fear that it would break. Solid performer. Recommended.

It works, but only if you use it permanently plugged in
Saw another review warning that it broke and a piece got stuck inside the expensive Surface laptop. As I intend to always have it in to expand the disk space I bought it anyway, because of the price, and the cost of the alternative, which would have fit perfectly inside my Surface Book. This one sticks out some mm, but it's ok for me. It did almost get stuck when I checked if it was the same for me as for the other guy I mentioned, and it almost broke when trying to pull it out, but it didn't. Now I just leave it there.
