This little quad is amazing! You won't be disappointed.
I can't say enough good things about this little guy. I have only had it for a week and I was compelled to write a review. I typically don't write reviews so soon so I will be sure to update it should my opinion change or should durability become an issue.First some background on my RC flying experience. Though I grew up driving RC cars, I have only been flying for about a month. I started out with a coaxial helicopter, the MCX2. I flew the MCX2 a lot for several weeks until I was quite comfortable with it and then decided to get a quad to check out the difference between the two types of copters and because I was looking for something a bit faster and more agile to fly indoors.I was looking for something very small with fairly precise fight as I typically fly in my relatively small living room and kitchen with the kids around. YouTube videos and Amazon reviews led me to this little quad. Others said it was extremely precise as if on rails, was small, and also durable.I have already ran about 25 batteries through this thing and it has been nothing but fun from the first battery. My very limited flight experience was definitely sufficient to fly it in stability mode as is very easy to fly. If you let go of the sticks in stability mode it just hovers in place with only minimal input to maintain altitude. The battery it comes with lasts about 4.5-5 minutes depending on how aggressively you fly. This quad is much more agile and much quicker that the coaxial heli I have been flying. It has two modes, a stability mode that it defaults to and the agility mode that you can enter by pushing down/in on the left control stick. I purchased the BNF (bind-n-fly) model and just used the controller from the MCX2 with it. It was very easy to bind once I read the instructions. When you enter agility mode, the bound/ready LED under the canopy will change from the solid blue color of stability mode to the solid red color indicating agility mode. In agility mode, it is very fast for a micro quad and was difficult for me to fly as it does not stop and correct itself when you let off the sticks, you have to give it constant input to get it to go were you want. In stability mode I was able to fly and land it in very precise locations which is great for indoor use as well (I was able to land it on a 6x6" square). Just as the left stick was able to be pushed in/down to put it into agility mode, the right stick can be pushed in/down to change the rates. If you are in stability mode for instance and push in the stick, the LED power indicator on the transmitter will begin and remain flashing while in low rate mode so you can fly extremely slowly and with very forgiving rates which would be good for an absolute beginner. It defaults to the high rate and solid LED indicator on the transmitter. It is very quiet. Compared to the MCX2, an MSR, a V911, or others I have heard and/or flown, it is maybe half as loud. It can be flown around without bothering people watching TV or talking which is a major plus for an indoor flyer. That said, although it is so small, it is not just an indoor flyer. It could be flown outside in a decent breeze as far as I can tell. I can fly it directly under the ceiling fan in our living room with little effect whereas my coaxial heli requires serious correction and gets tossed around under the fan. With my MCX2 heli I am always a little apprehensive about flying too close to the kids or letting them run after it as I don't want them to get hurt by the exposed blades but that is not a problem at all with this quad due to the ducted fans/blades. This is also good for protecting the TV. It is also small enough that I don't have to worry about it doing any damage to decorations (pictures, vases, etc...) if I accidentally bump into one.The only negative point I can think of is the low battery warning. My MCX2 coaxial heli would flash and reduce power and allow for a fairly graceful though quick landing whereas the Inductrix lights flash and it drops like a rock a second later. This was something I expected as I read about this in other reviews and heard about it on YouTube. Now that I know how long the battery lasts, I can set a timer on my phone for 4 minutes which will allow me time to bring it in for a more gentle landing and will also ensure not running the battery down too low so as not to damage the battery. It could definitely be a great first copter in stability mode with low rates selected in place of a fixed pitch heli like the V911 or coaxial. For $50 this is an amazing bang for your buck. I guess it would be around $70 if a first copter as you'd need to buy the RTF (ready to fly) if you don't already have a transmitter. Still well worth the money.

Nano QX vs Inductrix vs Hubsan X4
I own all 3 of these popular quadcopters so I thought I would give a comparison. In short:All can be good choices, but for different purposesThe Hubsan X4 offers a lot for its low price and can fight winds better than the other twoThe Blade Inductrix is the most stable indoors and easiest to fly overallThe Blade Nano QX is my overall favorite with the most opportunity for growth,Similarities:All of these popular quads have excellent aftermarket support. This includes parts, upgrades, and community knowledge. All are very stable in the air (but with different flight properties, as explained below).Transmitter:Both the Inductrix and Nano QX have a better transmitter upgrade path than the X4 in that they use DSMX. This makes using higher-end transmitters turn-key. With the Hubsan, you can use some high-end transmitters (e.g. Walkera, Taranis) but with additional cost and tinkering involved.LED Lighting:LED lighting assists with orientation and low-light flying. The Inductrix is best with a translucent body and very visible lights from every angle. The X4 is good too with 4 bright lights that are usually visible. The Nano QX had the worst lighting and basically expects you to look at the propeller colors.Note that I have posted a review for each of these models separately. Here are more details on the Inductrix:The Inductrix is light and fully protected. It's also the easiest to fly, making crashes somewhat more rare. There are reports from some that the frame breaks easily - I've not seen any problems yet.Flight times are 4-5 minutes with the included 150 mAh battery under room-temperature conditions, less in cold weather or when flown aggressively. The default flight mode of the inductrix is "stability" mode. In this mode you get two rates which feel well tuned. In stability mode, the Inductrix is not a drifter at all - as soon as you release the right stick, it "air brakes" to a halt. This makes it very easy to fly the quad aggressively indoors because you don't need to worry about getting near a wall with too much momentum - simply release the right stick and it aggressively slows. The Inductrix also turns very precisely and aggressively with only yaw input meaning that banked turns (yaw + roll) seem optional. This is great in some ways, but if you are trying to learn general flying skills, you'll need more than just the Inductrix to hone them. There is also a selectable "agility" mode. In this mode, the Inductrix flies very differently and requires more advanced skills. Unlike the "SAFE" stability mode, the quad does not level itself when you release the sticks but instead stays at whatever pitch and roll it was at. Also, the pitch and roll banking limits are removed - thus you can do flips, rolls, and other advanced stunts and maneuvers. You can also easily lose control while learning but the remote allows you to renter stability mode at any time for a chance to "save" a bad situation. My Inductrix in agility mode seems to take a bit more power to stay in the air (with lower flight times). I do not see this with my Nano QX, which flies beautifully in agility mode. That said, the Indictrix agility mode seems to handle tight spaces better - it's actually quite fun to fly agility aggressively indoors with the Inductrix and perform stunts that the QX needs a bit more space to pull off.

Fun little quad
I really like this mini quad. I have all sorts of quads and planes, I am comparing this to a nanoqx, Husban, Syma and some other 3d printed drones I made. I have flown roughly 10 packs so far.Pros:Sounds cool and unique with the ducted fansLooks nice with translucent body and ledsEasy to fly and high rate mode flys provides enough challenge for seasoned pilotsSuper stable, probably the most stable of all my quads, great for indoor percision flying!Cons:The battery dies too suddenly without adequate warning causing crash landingsDoes not have a lot of power. Full throttle is underwhelming, I just ordered an upgraded set from MicroMotorWarehouseI had to reinforced the body with a 3d printed bracket as others have done because the stock body has lots of weak spots but it is now indestructible as my symas.I would recommend this quad to beginners and experienced pilots

Awesome little bind-n-fly drone
I'm very happy with this drone. I was looking for a bind-n-fly drone that I could fly in my apartment, that would work with my Spektrum DX6i transmitter. This little quad copter works perfectly with the DX6i, and flies really well. It's not too hard to fly, but it's very agile -- it can make quick turns and goes can go pretty fast. Battery lasts for a few minutes a flight, so I'll probably need to grab more batteries for it. It's very fun to fly.The only feature that I dislike about this drone is that when it runs out of battery, the LEDs begin to flash and then it just stops flying. I would prefer if it began flashing ten seconds or so before it ran out of battery, so I could at least have a few seconds to land it smoothly, instead of having it just crash to the floor. But, it's a very durable little drone. I've crashed it many times and nothing has gone wrong with it. Occasionally a rotor blade has popped off when it's crashed, but you just pop it back on and it works again.Overall, it's very fun and flies well. Works great if you're looking for a drone to fly indoors with limited space.

The most stable micro ducted uav i have ever flown!
I would like to say that the one I received originally did not work. It was purchased as a prime from Amazon but they had none left so I had to get a refund. But the wonderful people at customer service fixed my problem. They managed to track down another one to send me instead of having to refund my money!I have received the replacement and it works wonderfully! If anyone tells you they have an inductrix killer, they are wrong! Nothing I have flown in this class comes anywhere close to being as stable. Just make sure you get extra batteries!
