Very good quality camera I am very happy with it
Very good quality camera I am very happy with it. Its quality and its viewing radius is similar or better than the factory (nice) camera in my wife's 2017 Mazda. Its got to be close to 180 degrees but no way to measure for sure. Very wide angle though. It is nothing like the cheap license plate cams you see. Seems solidly built. I haven't had it a whole year but many trips through automated car wash and no issues at all. Does not have grid lines at all, so if you want grid lines make sure your monitor or head unit has them (I don't like aftermarket grid lines so this was good for me.) Also this comes in a plain box (actually an envelope) like it was meant to be bundled with something at some point, no retail packaging, weak instructions. Very little online info. Comes with enough cord to go head unit to back of a Tahoe with enough to spare it would probably do a Suburban. Quality piece. Needs a ground, switched hot, and an RCA. Worth it, I would buy again.

Good quality but not the best option for anything other than backup camera
Best quality night viewing from a vehicle back up cam. Wish I had paid attention though. I'm actually using this as a camera for my daughter in her car seat since she is trach and vent dependent and I need to be able to quickly see her if alarms go off but the camera is a mirrored view. Makes sense for a back up camera. But MOST cameras have a way to switch this feature. The pioneer apparently does NOT and I failed to think about that so I have to deal with a mirrored image but it works I guess. If you are planning to use this for any other reason that strictly a BACKUP camera this is not your best optionObviously since it's sold as a back up camera this is NOT something I'm Counting against it for this review and still giving 5 stars for the video quality

A very good quality Product
Added this along with a new media headunit into my 2009 RAV4 about a year ago.... Not rating ease of install, because, cmon... that's really on you and your skill level.THERE ARE SO MANY BACKUP CAMERA OPTIONS... and many cheap ones.My experience with this one has been great. I learned about it from the documentation in my Pioneer Head Unit box... all reviews seemed solid, but it was definitely pricier than most others... It's worth it.Night vision rivals any OEM backup cam, the range is great, and it has survived over a year including freezing snow conditions, rain and warm humidity. It's been a year now and it's working perfectly, and I hope it lasts for many years to come. Nice product, Pioneer!

Great backup cam
I paired it with a Pioneer 8100 NEX and it works flawlessly. It has very good veiwing angles and installed easily in my crew cab truck. The image is a little grainy at night but even factory units are so I cannot complain.

Great angle and pic quality .
i have one in the front for my spoiler and one in the rear . they work great nice wide angle . if you go to Custom Sights & Sound Ii Inc. on facebook eric has some nice zoomed in pics . you cant even see the front cam and the rear cam doesnt block out any of my Marine Corps license plate .i have have not tried them at night yet but will post about them if there is a problem but i wouldnt think so . i even drove for a minute thru the front cam on the way home from the install , i would not recommend that but it shows how good the picture is on my pioneer 4200 head unit .

Great back up camera.
Arrived and performed as advertised. Easy installation due to replacement of the same model that was previously damaged on my vehicle. Wiring and plug in was already in place. Not yet tried in night time environment. Would recommend and buy this product again.

Requires some modification
The only disappointment I have is the camera mount came with four screws, none of which fit in the mounts intended spots. Because of this I had to drill out where the screws go which is really disappointing. Provide the right size screws or design the camera mount better. The camera mount had two slots with holes that were too small so those had to be drilled out and they were in the front. In the back there were two slots that did not have holes and those had to be drilled out as well. There was absolutely no way to use the screws provided without drilling the holes in front bigger and the slots in the back. Also I do not understand why the two front slots had holes drilled in the though they were too small the rear only had slots no holes. If you only use the front two slots with holes and put screws in those it will only be a matter of time before the sticky tape fails and the camera begins to teeter forward from no screws in the back. I ended up using the four screws provided whether they were the wrong ones provided or this mount was poorly designed is besides the fact now. Also the instructions did not say which side of the camera is up which was an easy fix just unscrew the two Allen heads on each side and flip it. Anyway besides that the install went very well. The instructions also did not mention anything about the reverse sensing wire needing to be hooked up to the reverse light power wire for the stereo to automatically pop up the back up camera upon putting the vehicle in reverse. You might argue refer to the stereo deck instructions but since it is directly related to the back up camera what is wrong with including that in the installation instructions? Anyway be prepared for some slight modifications to the mount unless Amazon or pioneer gets it together and uses different size screws or redesigns the mount. Also be prepared to drill a hole and or use a dremel to cut a piece of plastic dependent on the vehicle to conceal the wire for the back up camera. I did not have to drill into the metal of the vehicle I used a stock hole that was only intended for the hatch pop switch with a rubber grommet cut the grommet in half add the back up wire zip tied it together and used some black RTV sealant to make it good as new everything came out really nice.
