A Very Versatile Work Light
I bought this to fit to a new lathe. The lamp stem is very flexible and the light level is excellent. I made a more rigid mounting bracket than the one provided, but I could have used the original one. A good value and versatile work light.

Inefficient magnet
When it arrived and I looked it over and was left wondering why it was so expensive. The lamp isn't as bright or focusable, as I imagined it would be. The magnet needs quite a think pad of steel to stick to and hold securely. If the steel pad is too thin, it'll just separate from the magnet. I've no idea how long the lamp will last, but it's still going as of writing. They could knock £10 of the price of this and it would still be expensive. I was expecting quality.

Lathe Light
A very good bit of kit, allowed me to light up the job in the lathe with a nice bright light. The only criticism is the magnetic base could do with being a bit stronger.

I’m surprised
Needed a new work light for my workbench. This was the cheapest I could find. Don’t get me wrong this isn’t the highest quality ever but the light is extremely bright, it’s really handy having the on and off button on the head of the light, it seems to have a strong bendy shaft that will stay in place to where you move it. The only two things I don’t like is the power cable is very thin (fairly long but just a very thin) and the plug is very cheap looking and rattles. But overall I can’t knock its performance.

Absolutely terrible zero stars
This product has fallen to bits and is unusable. Not to mention dangerous. It forced me to choose one star and i give it zero. Theres no way to get a refund

A disappointing purchase - and return shipping to China is not practicable as very expensive
It throws a good light and the neck is flexible. The problem is with the magnet. The unit is not free standing and won't stand upright unless attached to something by the magnet. As others have pointed out, the magnet is barely strong enough to hold the lamp in position and it is therefore easily dislodged. I've done some experimenting and found that the magnet is much, much stronger when used with steel that is 10mm in thickness. Also both the bottom of the unit AND the back of the unit are about equally magnetic. So - it's off to see my friendly local blacksmith to get him to make me some sort of angled bracket that can be used (angle iron might be OK ?). NOTE. I did actually register to return this item but it entails sending it back to Shenzhen in China. The cheapest quote I got for this was about £28. I'll go with the blacksmith option.
