Not waterproof. I wouldn't even categorize this as water resistant.Here's what happened: I had this lantern hung by the metal hook on top, it fell off by pressure from it's own weight and dropped into a puddle. Maybe it was 10 seconds for me to walk a few steps to pick it up. It had water inside every casing. Device would then not turn off.Such a great idea for a product in terms of other features, but rated a failure in execution. Skip it. It will fall apart.

The first picture shows our back porch lit up with this lantern. The second picture shows our back porch with the lantern turned off. We live in the county and it is really dark at night. Can't wait to take it camping. Be aware of the size! It is really small as you can see in the third picture with me holding it in my hand. It is so very different than the large, cumbersome Coleman that I am accustomed to using. No more gas bottles ($4 each) and replacement mantles ($14 / pair). No need to carry matches. No need to worry about a shattered glass lamp. I can simply toss this into a camper drawer and pull it out when needed. Can attach it to my jeans or put into my backpack. Easy charging...And power storage as well. I like it.

I am giving this lantern 5 stars based on my initial opening. Tha lamp has 6 light modes, when I first opened the box it had a charge but I went ahead and charged it for 2 hours. There are no instructions but it really is not necessary. Lantern came with a hook so it could be hung. It has a swing out hand but since the lantern is small enough you can hold it like a flashlight. To switch through the flashlight, lantern and emergency red light modes you just have to push the on button 6 times and cycle through the modes. I tested this in our basement theater/game room. Room has no windows so when light is out it is completely dark.The lanter lit the room up pretty well, given it is a small room and completely enclosed, it appears to be able to do the job.Not too sure of battery life, have not yet had rhe oportunity to use this extensively.

I really love the design and features of this light. The fact that it is rechargeable with a 5 V DC input is great! This makes the lamp compatible with most solar battery systems. The light is very bright, has several different modes and can be easily carried (like a flashlight) or can hang for use as a lantern. All of this in a clever, compact form that is waterproof and durable construction. I have not tried to run for 6 hours on the brightest setting, but it can easily go 3 hours.

I was getting tired of every time camping and hunting season rolled around of refreshing the batteries in my lanterns/flashlights. Not any more. When I read that this lantern/flashlight had two 18650 rechargeable batteries in them I had to try it out. I have a high end rechargeable nitecore headlamp that uses the same battery and they are long lasting and heat and cold don't diminish their effectiveness. Not disappointed and the two pack of Yotutun camping lantern exceeded my expectations. I now have a lantern that has a flashlight, lantern function that can be used for emergencies, camping, star gazing (red light) and can be used as a power bank. A rechargeable swiss army knife of a multifunctional flashlight/ lantern and power back it is. A no brainer buying decision for me.

We had a tornado early yesterday morning. We are still without power but have a generator. We have other lanterns and flashlights but I ordered this because I wanted a smaller one and I liked the feature to recharge my phone. The photo is the lantern on low setting hanging on my headboard. Plenty of light for sitting cozy in my bed. I received it within a day so super fast shipping. I know it will really come in handy since we live in a very rural area. Highly recommended!!

It was smaller than anticipated but don't let that fool you! It has so much power. We charged it for a few hours and it lasted 2 weeks during our camping trip. We didn't use it too much. But let me express this thing will allow you to see at great distances in extrme darkness. There are several modes flashlight, lantern and blinking red. It is very light weight. Highly recommended.

This lantern was awesome. It’s a small, lightweight lantern which can also be used as a flashlight. This thing clips on to my backpack easily and can hang from the top of my tent to act as indoor lighting. The many different lighting settings are awesome for multi purpose use! So easy to recharge and holds a long battery life! My boyfriend was jealous of mine on our camping trip so I’m gonna get another one for him!
