How I "hack" this Yakisoba
I found the package instructions to be lacking, and it often ended up too dry or too liquidy. Here's the best way to prepare it that I've found. 1) Follow instructions as normal, up to the microwave part. It might be better to add water slightly above the fill line. 2) While microwaving, empty the powder packet (or less if desired) into the bowl you'll eat your noodles in. Add 1 tsp of sugar to the powder. Most Yakisoba has some sweetness, but I found this one to have really low sugar which didn't feel right. Try not to breathe the powder in as it can irritate. 3) Add water to the powder and sugar a little bit at a time, then stirring the powder/sugar after each bit of water, until the mixture turns into a thick sauce. 4) When noodles are done microwaving and it has set for 1 minute, remove from microwave. Peel back a corner from the opposite end of the lid from where you opened it halfway. Peel back just enough to allow water to pour through but not the noodles and veggies. 5) Drain the noodles from the corner that you opened. Be careful not to touch the hot water. Once drained, add to the sauce, stir well, and enjoy! Optional) Combine mustard and about 1/2 to 1 teaspoon of mayo. Adjust mustard to your preference (stronger the better). Drizzle or top the Yakisoba with the mustard mayo mixture.
