I have tried other brands, including no-name brands, but realize very quickly if you want the job done right on you glass-top stove, you need Weiman cleaner. Other brands leave a residue that is very hard to remove, and leave streaks behind when you are done.If you use too much cleaner, you also get a lot of residue with Weiman's, but it removes fairly easily with a paper towel. The secret is to use just a little with a damp sponge, and add additional drops if needed. I work the polish in until it almost disappears, so I can see that all burned-on residue is gone. Then after a few minutes of drying, a dry paper towel cleans up the remainder and leaves a sparkling finish.The reality is if you don't clean the cooktop regularly and the deposits are left to reheat over and over again, the burnt food is hard to remove with any cleaner. It takes a lot of rubbing with a sponge to get the top clean; if you do it regularly several times a week, it is easier. When I have been guilty of waiting too long before cleaning, I have had to resort to a sponge that has a scrubbing surface on one side. Even this is not enough on occasion, and I use a plastic spatula Flat on the surface and just rub it in circles with firm pressure and with Wieman polish underneath.These cooktops are beautiful when clean, hard to keep clean, but in my experience the easiest (or least difficult to be precise) solution is to use Wieman cleaner.

You probably didn't realize this thing existed but it does. It contains fine granules that help break down some of that burned stuff you got on your stove top. You are trying to save yourself from paying that deposit on cleaning the stove top; I don't blame you. You probably should have cleaned it when it happened but we are not perfect.Go ahead and buy this thing, rub it into the stove top, and clean it off. You will need to do it a few times. Specifically you because you kept using your stove top after it burned something and it formed that dark ring around your heating element.All else fails, just get a scraping tool and scrape some of that really burnt stuff off. But this will do the trick unless you are a slob moving out at the end of your lease, trying not to lose that deposit. Good luck slobs!

Weiman is an excellent glass cooktop cleaner. I've been using this product on my glass electric stove regularly for 20 years and it looks almost new. Of course it's wise to wipe your stove off after every use. Cleaning with every use will keep cooked on food from being difficult to remove.I also used it successfully on my ceramic sink and now on my stainless sink and chrome fixtures without scratching surfaces. I highly recommend this product.
