I was very wary when ordering this product ( l have always used the old way of sharpening chisels with the stone and oil ) but found that the unit worked brilliantly without any problems. It was so simple to use, a little bit of a problem finding the correct angle, but once that was sorted it was straight forward. I was very pleased with the results, the sharpness achieved with the minimum amount of effort. Cleaning was very easy and very quick, far better than before with Cleaning the stone and the oil. Very happy with the new way of doing things !

In an affront to masculinity, I read the instructions. Turns out the strop is mounted to the underside of the unit. Many reviews on here stated it was missing from the bundle, and I thought that initially too. Great bit of kit. Well made and sturdy, does the job with ease.

Like others the non slip mat was missing. I can still use the sharpener but its annoying that an item which is clearly shown in pictures of the product and according to the instructions should be included is missing. It's not worth returning for a replacement as the next one will likely be missing the same part.

You see varying reviews of this device on th internet. As an amateur relatively new woodworker i've always struggled to get my chisels really sharp. This kit gives you all the abrasive grades you need to acheive a really good edge really quickly.this supports 4 of them and It's easy to find the right angle for your chisel or plane blade. Then just start at the rough end of abrasiveness and work towards fine, clean the burr on the convient deburrer and use the strop and you're sorted. I strongly recommend buying the lapping fluid to get the best results. I particularly like the bag that holds everything minus the fluid in one pace. I took a set of 5 new but not particularly sharp Irwin chisels and got them all razor sharp in a effortless 10 mins. Really poor blades at odd angles may take longer to get them right so use a grinder if needed.

I'm generally a cheapskate, so first I bought a cheap chisel sharpener from the middle aisle at either lidl or aldi, but this was more designed for sharpening a chisel owned by a painter, so I had to buy this to repair the damage I'd caused to my chisels, and it has done a superb job, and for the record, lidl and aldi do have some excellent tools!

Looks like it's made well and it'll sharpen what I want it to , but it was missing the anti slip mat and as I'd bought two it was a double blow so I'm hoping "Trend " will send two anti slip mats as advertised to replace the ones they've not sent originally...here's hoping

All I had was a belt sander to sharpen my chisels so you can imagine the shape they were in. Well, they're in fine shape now. Very simple and easy to use. The final jobs is super! And it's easy to keep them that way.

Funktioniert! Einfach, gut und schnell. Der Schliff hat sicher nicht die Qualität von Japanischen Wassersteinen, aber ich hatte nach 1 Stunde meinen kompletten Satz Stechbeitel und Hobelmesser wieder Scharf.( zum Armhaare rasieren hat es gereicht)
