Samsung SMX-F50BN SD Camcorder with 65x Zoom (Black) (Discontinued by Manufacturer)

what an awesome camera. This will be the third one of these that I have had. No they didn't tear up: one was stolen and I broke my last one. It has great video capability with great audio. It is also easy to use to convert from camera to DVD or on facebook or youtube. I would highly recommend this camera to anyone. It is so simple to use!!! Get you one today it is well worth the money!

This camera is terrible. It forgets your settings every time you turn it off. The auto focus is constantly trying to focus in and god forbid there is too much movement on screen because it loses focus then. The camera will sometimes say there is no SD card available. The picture is fuzzy. I understand it isn't High Definition but my brother's old tape camera was better than this. My final straw was the battery, which is what made me write this review. I ordered this a year ago. Six months ago it started losing its charge quickly. It will not hold a charge at all now. I would let the battery run down before recharging so a battery memory issue being my fault is not so. I am a Samsung fan but I would, obviously, not recommend buying this.

Pretty good cam...when you zoom in sometimes while ur rec it umm has some kind of noise but other than that you get ur money's worth ..

I'm giving this product 2 stars because the advertisement model number is not correct. I ordered this product, which was labelled in the ad as being a Samsung SMX-F50BN camcorder. I've been attempted to purchase a video/tv cable for it, but have been ordering cables that are not compatible w/ it. I finally ordered a cable from [...] and it wasn't the correct cable either, so in speaking w/ a tech, I found out that the camcorder that I purchased was in fact a Samsung SMX-F40BN/XAA, and not a Samsung SMX-F50BN/SMX. This major error in the advertisement has cost me extra time and money, due to the fact that the ad for this camcorder did not display the correct model number in it's description title of the item. Check behind the battery pack of the camcorder to make sure you have model that you think you've purchased before you attempt to purchase accessories for this camcorder.

I knew I was buying a non HD Cam. Cheap skate I am.So it is that. Good optics but aberations on fast moving or any moving things. Not that bad as most people do not not really notice it and are happy with a quick DVD as apposed to a DVC cam with those nasty horrible tapes that are so short on time and reliability not too mention download time.Light weight that is for sure, but seems to be well made. Get a fast class card as the slow cheap ones tend to get kinda hot.The time lapse fuction is really neat, a joy to use. Quite an eye opener and good for security as well if needed.Autofocus works well if not a little slow but ok for this price bracket.The external LCD is very good as it has to be minus a viewfinder.Battery life kinda sucks as about an hour and a half and the external power connection is in an awkward place. The back would have been much better.Audio not bad at all, VERY sensitive and a pity no external mike in. My Canon DVC @ 3 x the price had not one either but quite similar stereo audio from the built in mikes.Screws on the old heavy Tripod with the standard thread.Next time HD, when the price is ok for this miser, but by that time my anti grav cellphone/media thingy with mind control will probably be available in my cereal box.

For the price, this video cam has been great for kids sporting events. Easy to use, a lot of filming options, lightweight and very useful.

Not worth the time or money. The material is ok, but overall the product is not good. The sight blocks out a lot of light, and can only be used on a bright sunny day. I am red green color blind so the green dot is not the best for me, and not to mention, i shoot at dusk so between the dark lens blocking most of the little light i have and the bright green dot (when turned on) i can't see my target, making the sight useless.If you are looking for a cheap dot sight that looks like an EOTech ACOG scope that you will only use during the day, then go ahead and get it, but if you intend to have a quality sight for your gun that you can use 24-7 no problem, then get something or anything else. Chaos doesn't strike at convenient times.

Given the purchase price, I certainly wasn't looking for a professional quality video/digital camcorder, but I did want one that I could use under most conditions, with results that I could consider good to very good and that is exactly what I got! I've not used it a great deal yet, but the more I do use it and learn about it, the more I like it. I felt that I had read enough positive reviews that the purchase was much more than a good gamble. I did get the free carry bag and a good price on a fair size SD Card, all at the same time. My overall feelings to date is this; SO FAR, SO GOOD, and again, for the price! Should anything strange or ugly pop up, I will certainly come back here and post that as well. Good luck and have fun with yours!
