As houses get smaller......
These books are very informative for the modeller in multiple scales in a modern home. Highly recommended.

Average
Small spaces in the US is not the same as in Europe it seems . A lot of N gauge and not a lot about micro model railway layouts. Not what i was after really

Very Disappointed
Terrible book. The author doesn't provide any useful details on the layouts provided. His use of flex track means he doesn't provide any curve radius information - a critical component to any small spaces layout design. Also some real basic errors - for example one layout is an HO-scale Christmas tree layout on a 24"-dia base. To quote "A comparable plan in N-scale would fit on a 24"-diameter base!" - well, I would hope so! As has been noted, the focus on the book seems to be limited to what the author has personally achieved - incorporating smallish layouts into furniture. He's obviously talented in that regard, but unfortunately he's severely lacking as an author.

Not what I wanted
Not at all what I wanted. I wanted a practical book containing some track plans and practical examples, showing me "How-to" as the series name implies. What I got was "How I built a coffee table containing a railroad layout" and "Here is a photograph of my son/daughter packing a small layout into an even smaller cupboard". All in all this "Model Railroader's How-To Guide did not do what it says on the lid!

A
A little dated and only really for N gauge modellers.
