positively shocked at how reat this is
This gave me over 20 stations, 8 of which are not available on my satellite dish or from my one available cable company. IT WAS HOOKED UP AND LOADEDWITHIN 10 MINUTES OR LESS. IT IS HEAVY, NOT FLIMSY AND CHEAP, AND IT IS NOT NEAR A WINDOW - IT IS INSIDE MY ENTERTAINMENT CENTER ACROSS THE ROOM. MY ONLY CONCERN IS THE MANETIC PORTION. DOES IT EECT DVRS? DOES IT AFECT ANY O MY OTHER TECH IN THE ENTERTAINMENT CENTER - I JUST DON'T KNOW AND WAS CAREUL TO PUT IT IN THE BOTTOM O THE EC SO IT WASNT NEAR ANYTHIN IT COULD DESTROY. I REALLY WISH THE MANETIC PORTION WAS A REMOALE BOTTOM OR A REPLACEABLE BOTTOM SO I WOULD NOT HAVE TO WORRY. THESE DAYS THERE IS TOO MUCH TECH ALL OVER THE PLACE AND CLOSE TO EACHOTHER THAT INDIN A PLACE WHERE YOU CAN HAVE A REALLY SUPER STRON MANET IS ALMOST IMPOSSIBLE. BESIDES THE FACT THAT IT WORKS GREAT, I WAS ABLE TO 'BEST' OR 'ONE UP' OR 'BEAT' MY CABLE/INTERNET COMPANY WHICH IS A RARE FEAT. AND TRULY ALMOST IMPOSSIBLE THESE DAYS. USUALLY YOUR CITY PICKS WHAT COMPANY WILL CARRY YOUR PHONE, CABLE, INTERNET, POWER, WATER, GARBAGE, ETC. AND THE CONTRACT GOES TO THE SAME COMPANY EVERY YEAR WITH NO CONCERN FOR THE PRICES OR THE SERVICE OR THE QUALITY. EVERY SINGLE AREA NAMED IS ONE COMPANY WITH A COMPLETE MONOPOLY, GIVING YOU NO CHOICE AND GIVING THEM NO REASONS TO KEEP THE COSTS DOWN AND THE QUALITY UP. SO BEATING THE DREADED COMCAST WITH A $10 ANTENNA MADE MY DAY BRIGHT AND BEAUTIFUL. I STILL NEED INTERNET SO THEY CAN ALWAYS CONTINUE TO BLEED MY WALLET DRY FOR INTERNET WHILE HAVING HUGE PORTIONS OF THE DAY/NIGHT WHERE YOUR INTERNET DROPS OUT CONSTANTLY-- BUT BETWEEN SATELLITE AND THIS ANTENNA, I HAVE NOW FREED MYSELF FROM THE TENTACLES OF CABLE TV FOREVER. OH IF ONLY I COULD GET INTERNET ROM SOMEONE OTHER THAN COMCAST OR ATT... Recently COMCAST 'upraded', GIVING ME worse and more expensive service. we used to have cable on one tv, solely because it costs less to have internet with cable on one tv than internet alone ($20 less) so we had it to decrease our bill. 2 years ago THEY made the lowest package 6-10 stations DEPENDIN ON THE DAY instead of 25+ -makin it even more worthless, but still cheaper than internet alone. Now, the upgrade requires a cable box to get any stations at all, making it more expensive than internet alone - AND MY THEORYON COMCAST IS "NOT A PENNY MORE" but I liked having a tv with something on it that was not linked to my satellite. I have bought numerous antennas for hurricane season, in order to get at least one station or news, to no avail. They have all been worthless pieces of junk. SO I was leery o wasting another $10. NOW I AM GETTING 2 MORE SO I CAN GET TV STATIONS THROUGH DVD PLAYERS THAT ARE HOOKED UP THE THE TVS NON-DVR/SATELLITE CONNECTIONS, ALLOWIN ME TO WATCH OR RECORD STATIONS IN ADDITION TO WHAT IS RECORDIN ON MY DVRS, SO I NEVER HAVE TO CHOOSE TO GIVE UP A SHOW DURINGG THOSE FEW PRIMETIME HOURS WHEN THERE ARE MORE SHOWS THAN DVR CONNECTIONS. FREAKIN AWESOME!!!!!!! SORRY OR THE CRAZY CAPS, MY KEYBOARD WENT HAYWIRE AS SOON AS I STARTED THIS REVIEW, CHOOSIN WHEN TO CAP AND WHEN NOT TO CAP WITHOUT REARD TO THE SHIFT BUTTON.

Surprisingly Strong!
A little background information: I wanted a decent OTA solution for pulling in the news + occasional ball games in the event that friends come over. We live about 20-30 miles away from our local broadcast towers, AND our elevation is much lower, creating a perfect storm of terrible reception for OTA signals. I have owned Terk, RCA, Philips, Winegard, and other brands of indoor antennae, and on a good day I could pull in 8-14 channels with varying levels of strength (clarity). On a whim, I decided to purchase this little antenna to try something different. We already have a crowded entertainment center, and I was sick of moving antennas back and forth to reduce interference from other devices/find the "sweet spots" for particular channels. My expectations were quite low, so imagine my surprise when I placed this little wonder in my window (on a spot previously inhabited by several of the previous antennae) and on the first tuning it pulled in 21 channels with astounding clarity. It is said that this antenna's reception is bolstered by being attached to a metal surface, and after testing the antenna back on the entertainment center (with greatly diminished results), I believe the fact that it is touching our metal blinds has, for all intents and purposes, "boosted" the antenna's performance dramatically. This effect was not present in previous antenna tests, but none of those tested prior to this had instructions mentioning that metal surfaces would "boost" the signal strength, either. Bottom line: Your mileage may vary, but this antenna has worked wonders for us, especially considering the environmental hurdles previous antennae have had to overcome...and it's also the smallest possible antenna we own, saving space and pulling in a strong enough signal that we don't have to move the antenna around to awkwardly-placed locations near the TV. Keep in mind that, if possible, your antenna will need to be near a window, facing the direction of the stations you wish to receive. Use AntennaWeb's site to check for station locations.

Works like a charm
I am about 30 miles or so south of Salt Lake and I get 39 stations with this little antenna I originally bought it to use with my Simple. TV box but it was borderline noisy on a few of the channels so I purchase a more expensive amplified omni direction antenna. Otherwise it is really a decent antenna but the Simple TV device is super finicky about little digital dropouts and it kept hanging the device. For normal viewing you probably would nt have noticed the few little blips here and there that I had on 2 of the 39 channels. Also, it's a solid little antenna, with a strong mag base on it and I don't doubt that it would stick to the roof of a car if you wanted to receive TV channels when you were mobile. All in all, a good little product, well worth the ridiculously low price.

Absolutely fantastic picture quality with this tiny little Ariel, was using the usual indoor aerial with the telescopic antennas but would have to move it around when watching certain channels and got quite a bit of interference depending on weather, since plugging this one in no problems at all,was a bit sceptical even after reading reviews but so glad I purchased it,well worth the money for such a little thing
