Is the small and medium the same size?

Motorcycle helmets usually use three shell sizes: XS-S, M-L, and XL-XXL. The differences between the two in each shell size comes from adjustments in padding at the factory. To answer your question, the small and the medium not only are two different sizes, they use two different shells.

How solid is the chin bar connection? How likely is it to break off in an impact?

Well what i cannot tell you is that i’ve tested it out on the impact portion. But, what i cam attest to, is that its a SOLID chin bar, its locked into place on both sides of the helmet and holds up real well to drops and accidental hits to the front. It seals up to the helmet almost seamlessly; I’ve had people ask me about how to go about getting a full face helmet like this one, without knowing it could be converted to a 3/4. Other than that, its DOT and ECE approved as a full face and 3/4. Thats the best answer I can personally give.
