I tried Selsun Blue 2-in-1 Antidandruff Shampoo & Conditioner (Maximum Strength) because I was looking for something stronger than typical drugstore dandruff shampoos, and overall it lived up to the treatment claims — with a few trade-offs. Right from the first wash, I noticed it felt more therapeutic than most ordinary shampoos. The scent isn’t as alluring as regular hair products, but it has a clean, medicinal note that actually feels like it’s working. During the first couple of uses, my scalp felt less itchy and tight — a nice change if you’re used to flaky, irritated spots. The 2-in-1 formula is convenient. It lathers like a shampoo but also rinses out smoother than some other heavy dandruff washes, so my hair didn’t feel overly stripped afterward. I didn’t need to follow up with a separate conditioner, which saves time and keeps the shower routine simple. On the “maximum strength” effectiveness, it definitely performed better than most budget drugstore options I’ve used. I saw a reduction in visible flakes after just a few washes, which is impressive for a product at this price point.

This Selsun Blue shampoo and conditioner works great for controlling dandruff while still leaving my hair soft and manageable. After just a few uses, I noticed less flaking and my scalp felt much healthier. The scent is clean, and it doesn’t dry out my hair like some other medicated shampoos. My husband likes this antidandruff shampoo because it is a 2 in 1 product. Much easier to pack when he is traveling and only needs one bottle instead of one for shampoo and one for conditioner. Found that the product does make red stains on our white tile in our shower. It is easy to scrub off but frustrating non the less to have this happen. It is very effective in reducing dandruff and has a nice scent. The only product he will use for shampooing his hair.

Selsun Blue! Now, THIS is a reputable brand I have known since childhood (I'm in my 70's). I needed this for a relative in assisted living. She never had dandruff or dry scalp issues but being on new medications might be the culprit so. making sure she has her flake-free scalp back soon. She seem to like the scent & the ease of having a 2-in-1 blend of shampoo & conditioner gets her in & out of the shower faster. I've noticed she has already scratching her scalp less often as she was before we started her on this. It's a good sized bottle for the price, too.

A favourite product that I keep on the shelf in the bathroom for occasional use, but my nearly empty bottle was bought over 20 years ago and I can’t locate it in chemists locally, so delighted to find it on Amazon, same name, same brand, same active chemical but now made in USA, not uk!

Very good for dandruff also the smell is vry good

J'utilise ce type de shampoing depuis 50 ans sans problème. A l'origine il était produit sous licence par le labo américain #Abbot. Lorsqu'il est tombé dans le domaine public (au bout de 20 ans) il a été repris par d'autres labos dont l'Oréal sous le nom d'Elsève. Un jour l'Oréal a également arrêté la production car il contient du disulfure de sélénium qui est son produit actif. Ce produit est maintenant interdit en France (ceci étant, je l'ai tout de même utilisé sans aucun problème pendant 40 ans). A vrai dire ce n'est pas un shampoing (c'est à dire qu'il ne lave pas les cheveux) mais un traitement. Il faut laver les cheveux avec un shampoing NEUTRE (ou simplement du savon dit de Marseille qui est neutre) puis appliquer le #Selsun ou celui vendu ici (C'est toujours le même en utilisant une variante dans la formule), le laisser agir pendant 5 à 10 minutes puis rincer abondamment le cuir chevelu pour enlever toute trace du produit . Mais c'est très efficace. Cependant, si vous vous lavez les cheveux tous les deux jours (comme préconisé), il ne faut pas l'utiliser toutes les jours mais une fois toutes les 3 semaines. Cela suffit. C'est un produit très actif. De plus, cette formule est moins pénalisante que le produit d'origine qui laissait pendant 24 heures une odeur de soufre sur le cuir chevelu.
