This is a treasure trove! A true classic.
It's amazing how an otherwise expensive book is available at such a low affordable price. A must buy for management professionals, especially those who often must make compelling business arguments through research reports, whitepapers or even business presentations. The book is highly recommended in some leadint business schools in the western world, and it's easy to see why. It presents how we often overlook the importance of clarity of thought in our communication, which leads to the reader or the audience missing the point. The print quality is just fine, don't worry about the pricing.

Must read for all Product Managers
The book quality is good as opposed to the review. I liked the book which explains the key concepts of writing and thinking which is very important in the modern world where the attention span is very limited.

Good buy - for all those who have to write
This is an important book, and it tries to provide guidelines on logically persuasive and analytical writing. This book is for someone who does not know logical reasoning or critical thinking. The author essentially suggests the structure of an argumentative essay for any work involving written analysis and or persuasion. If the author had approached the book from explaining what is logical reasoning, and then went on to explain the structure, it would have been much more easily understood - rather than expecting people to understand logical reasoning from examples. Examples are very poorly structured . Very often the author asks you questions without giving you the complete background, and then brings in the background data to answer the question. If the question was posed to you with the complete data before asking the question, you would find the answers quite easy. The explanation of induction and deduction doesn't help, and if you want to be able to apply the pyramid structure well, you should pick up some other book on logical reasoning and learn from there. Great idea, good need for a book on the topic, but after the first two chapters, the rest of the book creates more confusion than any learning it may provide - and this difficulty is primarily because of the structure of the examples and also the nature of the examples. The examples are very frustrating - and not at all done well. If only the examples are improved, the learning could be much more. But yes - definitely everyone must buy the book and read the first two chapters.

Great book, spolit by poor print
This is certainly a great resource for people wanting to communicate better. However the whole experience is spoilt by the poor print, which is on a cheap paper, typesetting awry and pages misaligned. Wish Pearson did a better job here.

Barbara Minto's "The Pyramid Principle: Logic in Writing and Thinking" is an exceptional guide that has transformed the way professionals structure and communicate their ideas. Developed during Minto's tenure at McKinsey & Company, this method has become a cornerstone in business communication, particularly within consulting firms. Key Concepts: Top-Down Communication: Minto advocates for presenting the main idea first, followed by supporting arguments and evidence. This approach caters to the modern reader's preference for efficiency and clarity. Logical Structuring: The principle emphasizes organizing ideas into a pyramid structure, ensuring each level supports the one above. This method enhances readability and comprehension. MECE Framework: Standing for Mutually Exclusive, Collectively Exhaustive, this framework ensures that ideas are distinct and collectively cover the entire topic, preventing overlaps and gaps. Application and Relevance: While rooted in business and consulting, the Pyramid Principle's structured approach is beneficial across various fields, including journalism, academia, and any domain requiring clear and persuasive communication. It aids in transforming complex ideas into accessible narratives, making it a valuable tool for professionals and students alike. Critique: Some readers may find the book's content dense, with its technical jargon and extensive examples. However, for those willing to engage deeply, it offers profound insights into effective communication. Conclusion: "The Pyramid Principle" is more than just a writing guide; it's a comprehensive approach to organizing thoughts and presenting them logically. Embracing this method can lead to more persuasive arguments, clearer reports, and overall improved communication skills.

The book itself is great. Kindle-version is of very bad quality: - Table of contents is missing. - Quality on screen is very bad (see screenshot) - Pages' edges are cut off right at the end of the sentences. No spacing - It shows two pages at a time
