iMartine LED Ring Light 10" with Tripod Stand & Phone Holder for Live Streaming & YouTube Video, Dimmable Desk Makeup Ring Light for Photography

The brightness, assembly, and remote are great. I haven't tried the microphone yet. My issues are with the legs and phone holder. The legs are not very stable. You have to put them in a certain position in order for it to balance the ring light. I have the iPhone 11 Pro Max. My phone is too heavy for the phone holder. I am unable to get it to stand still due to the weight. It falls to the side.

First of all, it was very easy to assemble following by the pictures printed on the card. However, it doesn't come with an adapter so I have to move to a different location to try this light out. I realized the tripod doesn't extend so it is only good for sitting on the counter or a table. I had a hard time making the "whole thing" tilted so I could shoot some clips on the counter (it is going to be a cooking video). I accidentally got pinched and it caused my palm to bleed when trying to push the cord 90 degree angle.Within an hour it arrived, it is going back to its own packaging. I love the simplicity of the design, I love that I don’t have a bunch of extra pieces to keep track of to change the color of the lighting. Literally the only thing I would change is how tall the piece holding up my phon is, if that was 2 inches shorter, it would be better, but it curves a bit, so I played with it a bit and got it to work out for me. I use the light to film for my YouTube channel, and this is perfect! I love that you can adjust the intensity, color and turn it off and on all with one little remote that stays attached! So great!

I really like this device. The lighting is great and it was easy to assemble. Initially, I couldn't get the remote control to work because I had trouble figuring which device it was listed on my phone. I had to look at a YouTube video to learn how to connect the remote. Also, I had trouble with the microphone. With the help of YouTube, I was able to find out that I needed to purchase an additional connector (TRS combo audio adapter) in order for my phone to acknowledge that a microphone was connected to it. I'm haven't purchased the connector yet, but overall everything else seems to be working great.

Everyone said get a ring light so I did. They forgot to mention if you have classes it will put light circles on your glasses even if you have reflective lenses. Also the ring stand has trouble keeping the ring up, falls down even when tightened. The tripod is not big enough for the size of the ring and easily tips over. The iPhone holder also moves, the weight of the iPhone 11Pro is too heavy for it. If you have a light, small phone and don’t wear glasses then it is a good starter setup. The three light settings are nice. So, for me I can’t use it.

I bought this to support my online teaching and video creation process. I was weary because of the price but have been very pleased with it. This purchase was made in March 2020 and is still working as expected 3 months later (June 2020). Given that the tripod is short, you cannot expect the light to carry too far. However, this is great for my teaching videos, where focus is my face and a bit of my torso. The camera and ring are only a few feet away from my face and are the perfect fix to the low lighting in my house. I haven't used the remote controller or microphone yet, so I cannot speak to their effectiveness.PROS: Very affordable; light works as expected; adjustable phone holder can fit about any size phone; light adjusts in brightness and in color; very easy to set up and useCONS: Tilting the ring is easy but it's very difficult to get the joint secured enough that it stays in the preferred position. This is especially difficult when using the phone holder. The weight of the phone can be too much for the pan-tilt to hold. It would be better if the tripod legs were longer or the pan tilt has stronger hold. The goose neck is a plus in theory, but most positions make the tripod unbalanced.

Does not come with an adapter and you'll have a hell of a hard time trying to find one that'll work well with this. I didn't pay attention sadly and didn't see that it wouldn't come with an adapter. Now i have it and cannot use it because i dont have the specific adapter this item requires. Every adapter i try over heats and i am having a hard time finding the correct one. Would have never bought this if i knew. Can't return cause i live in the caribbean.

UPDATE: still have not heard back from the company. I’m pretty handy so I decided to hand figure out if I could fix the connection myself. I opened the cap of the control to discover that the wires on the side that broke off were never even soldered on! It was not able to be fixed with glue or any other fixing agent, it’s must be soldered to stay put and I don’t have the ability to do that myself. Will update if the company gets back to me. But BUYER BEWARE!Original review:I have used this ring light only a handful of times and noticed early on that the cord had to be placed just a certain way for the light to come on. I thought perhaps it was the older cube I was plugging it into, but now it’s obvious that the problem is as the construction of the light all along. After sitting on my desk untouched for a month, I discovered the cord is completely detached from the remote’s internal connection and broken beyond my ability to fix. What a waste of money. Don’t buy this cheap product.

I am disappointed that the iMartine 10" LED Ring Light with Microphone,Tripod Stand and Phone Holder cannot hold my phone. That totally ruined the fun, because I still have to use another phone stand to do a video.
