isn't calcium carbonate the same ingredient in TUMS?

Yes. But this works better for some reason. For 15 years, I've been taking prevacid and zantac EVERY DAY. I take a daily med that causes this. One day I was bike riding w my teen son. I had horrible heartburn and we were too far from home to go back. The only store was whole foods. I'll be honest, I was super skeptical but also desperate so I bought these and one tablet worked wonders. I am now taking one a night and haven't taken my OTC meds in a week. Oh and also, tums didn't usually work for me so there must be something abt the herbal blend that helps.

Can I swallow the tablet instead of chewing it ?

These tablets are actually tasty, and rather large. So for me I need to chew and then swallow them. If I have an upset stomach I take 3, in about 15 minutes I'm good to go.

Does it mention any warnings for young children? I need something for my 3 year old who has trouble with reflux.

I can't even tell you how much I love this produce and what a difference it has made for me. I by this produce in small and large quantity but I do believe it is a single pack.
