I bought this with a pack of 3 battery switch boxes.I used the holder that uses 2x AA batteries due to the size being better for my needs.This laser is to help me set up my laser engrave and works better than i thought it would.I can now position my engraving with almost pin point accuracy although its not quite perfect.The laser crosshair itself is a little thicker than i hoped it would be, but still works fine.The laser module itself is very good. Feels decent quality and nice and light and small.I made a bracket out of acrylic using my laser cutter, which i stuck to the side of my engraver.The wiring, although quite short, was 'just' long enough for my needs.

Used to help with setting work zero on my CNC. Best for me to use 2 AA batteries so 3 volts. It's too bright with 3 batteries but I am using it at very short range. The weakness is the sloppiness of the focus ring in the barrel which means that every time you touch it the cross moves. I have set the focus then jammed the screw threads with some fine twine and tape so it is reasonably secure. If it proves a workable solution I may redo it with Locktight or similar.

Needed a vertical cross to be projected for an equipment alignment rig and made a holder with a precision drilled hole to hold this diode absolutely vertical to ensure accuracy, but resulting cross is several degrees out of true, and turning the bezel to focus the laser moves the centre around. So, if this is to be a part of something useful you'll need to devise a quick and easy method to recalibrate each time the focus is changed - not ideal!

Excellent quality with variable focal length for a cross or line.

The focus of the cross hairs is poor

A red cross able to be focused sharp over 2 metre distance. I mounted this in a custom made boss to align a marine prop shaft. Powered by a 5v USB supply rather than a battery, I had it on for continual periods of half an hour, over many hours of engine orientation adjustment, with no issues. Sharp cross on target, just over 2 metres, but imagine it can cast a beam over much longer distances.

Great little laser light, can be focused, got this for my laser cutter, to pinpoint laser beam when cutting material.
