Dayton1/4 HP Belt Drive Motor, Split-Phase, 1725 Nameplate RPM, 115 Voltage, Frame 48

I purchased this motor for use in a rock tumbler. It has 7 two-pound barrels on it so far, and it's been running for a little over a month now with no problems so far.I'm getting ready to add a second level with another 7 two-pound barrels, and I don't expect to have any problems with the motor being able to handle it.

East to install and quiet running. However after about a month out makes very loud noise for first few minutes then stops

It was easy to hookup but when I applied power to it, it sounds like there is no lubricant on the bearings, a loud whine. It doesn't run smooth like a well lubricated motor. I purchased it because the Dayton name was one of the best motors on the market.After running about 30 minutes, under load of fan it constantly makes roaring sound and kicks off thermal protector and stops, With inferred tester it was 174.9 degrees on outside of housing.

replaced old motor and it fit with no problems. Works great!

Works perfect for my needs. Will buy again.
