It works, reduces the PH in my hot tub. Probably enough to last me a couple years with my hot tub.

Solid packaging but expensive
Not sure how to tell if this product is really working like it should, but we're dumping in a pound of it every time we check our pool chemicals, which gets expensive and 100 bucks a bucket. The bucket has a great safety locking mechanism, but I wish I could buy cheaper packaged refills to not have to accumulate the buckets...

Muriatic Acid Was Better For Me
This is my first year with a new plaster concrete 28K gallon pool. I’ve used muriatic acid before this and tried this dry acid.My alkalinity is kept between 70 - 110. I hit 8.2 ph weekly and two treatments of a half gallon of muriatic would last a week.8 dry cups of this dry acid diluted in a 5 gallon bucket was as effective as half a gallon of muriatic acid. I had to do twice as many treatments a week of this than liquid muriatic acid and this $100 bucket lasted about a month. You’ve got to stir this a lot to dilute it.Muriatic acid is $10 a gallon. That’s $40 a month or more than half as much as this.I’m going back to muriatic. It was worth a shot.
