love it, wish it was a little cheaper
This tray-sized bedside table works exactly as described. It handles my 15.5 inch laptop with easy and I believe would support a 17". I bought it more or less so I could either leave the laptop on board and watch a movie, or have someplace to put it when I am ready for sleep, that is convenient. I assembled it easily without looking at directions. So I can't speak to quality of instruction, but I didn't have any trouble on my own. The illustration shows it adjusted to face away from the bed, however you can also easily switch it around so it goes over the bed, which is how I keep it due to space constraints. There is enough space underneath that I don't feel restricted on my twin mattress, although I don't know that I'll be rolling under it. I haven't looked - I may be able to adjust it higher as well. But it works fine as it is. I wish it was closer to $15 (with the free shipping I get with Prime) than the 21.95 I paid. It is plastic on top and definitely wobbly (I would not however worry about it coming apart or off the bed). If you put drinks on it or anything with liquid, you won't want to bump it or it will move sideways and you may get slop. Nonetheless a convenient extra surface for temporary placement of such items. While it holds my laptops with ease, I would not either place a very heavy load on this surface. E.g. a stack of textbooks might be too much. A few heavy books would not, so if you want to do some homework and then put your laptop and a book or two on it, I'm guessing it would be fine. Note that it runs along the side of the bed. It is not a lap-table. You cannot place it directly in front of you; e.g. not ideal for feasting or typing, unless you have a stand-alone keyboard you can put in your lap. I consider it more for storage for papers, my phone, my laptop, etc.--things I want to keep close but may not necessarily be using immediately, or, for viewing as I surf or just watch movies. I have a wireless keyboard somewhere around here... There is a very slight ridge all the way around, enough to keep things like pencils from rolling off, but not enough to get in the way. So, I'm not sure it's worth the full value in terms of construction design and materials, but in terms of function I'm very happy with it. I'm thinking of ordering a 2nd one for my other laptop or for drinks, dishes, etc. but I'm not sure I want to shell out another $22. Altogether, I do recommend this product. With the few drawbacks stated, it's also fantastically convenient, space-efficient, and easy to put together.

Terrible, spills everything like a table with jello for legs
This isn’t even worth the time it took to place the order. Needed it because I was having surgery. It is so wobbly it has no function whatsoever. There is no purpose to it whatsoever. If you sit something on it and even touch the table everything spills. Also it was horrible to put together. It isn’t even worth $1.

Perfect for certain situations - NOT for heavy items or drinks unless mounted more permanently.
The Bedside Table is PERFECT for certain applications such as more table space for someone with mobility issues and needing to have lightweight items within easy reach. It's nice to be able to setup and take down as needed. The way our bed is constructed (mattress sitting atop a former water bed pedestal with drawers - a section of plywood afixed to make a solid platform for the mattress) we can mount this table to the platform. Otherwise, this table is NOT sturdy for a heavier laptop and open drinks (such as pictured) are at risk of being spilled. Even with the table mounted to the platform I still would recommend using a closed bottle for a beverage such as a CamelBak BPA-Free Better Bottle with Bite Valve If the person needs help getting in and out of bed and just wants the table to hold a book, a Kindle, etc, perhaps look at the Standers Stander Bedside Mighty Rail, Black, Universal or the Standers Bed Rail Advantage (this REALLY helped my husband with mobility issues!!!) as a good alternative.

SUPER CHEAP, TUBES DON'T FIT TOGETHER, TRAY ARRIVED WARPED LIKE A PRINGLES POTATO CHIP.
Literally the cheapest thing I've ever purchased on Amazon. The tubes flanges don't fit together even if you sand off the paint. Button clips broke with about 3 pounds of pressure. None of that matters because the tray arrived warped like a pringles potato chip. Not worth 5 bucks. I'm surprised this is even able to be sold or leave the factory. If they charged 5 buckS for this it would still be insulting.

Broken on coming
Actually I really like the idea. But it was coming with a broken rack on the board and broke through to the surface also. I have to return it.

It works, it's cheap, mine had defect. See image.
It does what it is supposed to do. Mine was messed up as shown in the picture. Luckily I was able to overcome the issue by making a new hole. Cheap quality but it does what it says and it supports my alienware Area51m which is close to 10 pounds. I wouldn't recommend more weight on the table.

Excellent!
This is a great bedside table to use for things that aren't that heavy like remotes, keyboards, phones, magazines and much more. And it's pretty large and can sit in just the right place to easily access everything. If you're looking for something to hold really heavy stuff like full dishes and drinks etc then this is not a good choice. For my use it's working out really well. I used to have tons of remotes, a keyboard, reading glasses, a phone and a back scratcher in my bed. It would take up all kinds of space and I would end up sleeping on half it. Now I just put everything on this table and it holds it easily. Again, perfect for this kind of application.

Junk. Parts wouldn't fit - returned
Ordered two of these. Both had same problem: the small U shaped piece that supports the table top, won't fit onto the other piece it's supposed to attach to. Poor quality control at the factory. "Instructions" sheet doesn't have actual instructions although it's easy to figure out how to assemble. Waste of time. Returned.
