AudioSource Digital Amplifier, 2 Channel Stereo Power D Amplifier AD1002 for Home Sound Systems

Replaced an old sony 120watt 7.1 receiver. This new ad1002 is way better than that sony. Its not that it is louder, it is so much more clear. It even sounds great at low volume, where as the sony needed the loudness turned on. The sound atmospheres are completely different. I hear more instruments with ad1002. Sony amps are not much for bragging. So when comparing to an old audiosource amp 100, the ad1002 shines again. The ad1002 seems about 25% louder then the amp100 and more crisp and clear. I have the amp pushing two JBL Northrigde e100. The only amp that has pushed these speakers like the ad1002 is my Behringer a500. I might even replace my two old amp 100 with ad1002. Little more test driving first. Im using Jriver MC and jremote to control zones of music in my house. I have a laptop with three Behringer uca222 usb's hooked up to my Audiosource amps. I use the DSP in Jriver MC for all my equalization. I have the bass and treble flat and volume 85% turned up on the amps. I use jremote to control volume and songs. Why did i tell you this? I had to physically turn the sony on. The Audiosource amps turm on automatically and shut off when i stop playback on jremote. The sony was starting to cost me, because i kept forgetting to shut it off. Update still a good amp, just not at $50 dollars more that I bought it at.

I needed an amplifier to power my zone 2 house speakers system, and these worked really well. I actually bought two amplifiers to Power my home ceiling speakers. One amplifier for the left, and the second amplifier for the right. These are 2-ch channel amplifiers, but you can strap the outputs together in the MONO mode to double your output power. Doubling your output power of the amplifier helps reduce low frequency distortion if you have a lot of speakers connected to your amplifier, and you want to turn up the volume. This also helps protect your speakers from being damaged from audio distortion.

I needed an amp for to drive some outdoor speakers. It lives in a cabinet in the outdoor kitchen. While somewhat protected from the elements, it is exposed to a high humidity and very hot environment. I went through two prior amps (Yamaha and Sony) and both lasted less than a year. This little amp is going on two years and seems fine. It seems better sealed than most amps (there are no vents on top). You're not going to get exceptional sound quality at $180, but it's perfectly fine for patio speakers.

I bought two of these. After six months the right channel has gone out in both of them. Not recommended. 300 bucks down the drain.

Great amp with good sound quality and an amazing "interrupting" feature for 2 inputs. If one input is actice it automatically switches over. Good if you have a turntable and a streaming source. It's also very small, you can hide it almost anywhere. The problem is that the 7 inch depth doesn't allow you to place it below a turntable. Would also like the bass and treble controls on the front. But hard to find something that checks all those boxes for less than 200 new.

I love these amps. I own 3 of them- 2that run four Martin Logan Surrounds, and 1 that I run Mono for a Martin logan center channel. They are clean clear power. Way better than running the speaker outs from my Onkyo. It keeps my amp cooler, and the sound is crispy clean. A lot of people complain about these amps not turning on when the digital signal trigger hits them. This is true, there is an issue with this. It's an easy fix though, on the back of your receiver there is a 12v Analog trigger out, you just run a 5.00 trigger cable from your receiver to these amps and they will come on every time. Don't try to use the RCA line levels to turn them on or you can have issues. this is a mfgr problem and they have taken alot of heat over this issue. Regardless, these class D amps are perfect for Surrounds or Atmos speakers and they have a very clean digital sound-perfect for home theatre. They are also small and light, they are more than enough to help fill a 15 by 15 room with lots of small speakers. (I have a Martin Logan 7.1.2 home theatre).

I purchased this amp for my rear surrounds in October 2024. So far it's been working great. It's providing the power for the extra channels on my Onkyo rz50 that don't have power. For the price that says been a great purchase.

It was a replacement for the same model installed in 2017. Matched the setup to the original amp, installed in the rack, hooked up the cables and good-to-go. Saved a bunch of money by procuring it myself and doing a self-install.

Does what it’s advertised to do. Would buy again.
