Cooking Mama: Cookstar (Nintendo Switch)

I’ve had this for 3 weeks now and I can’t stop playing this game . Lots of recipes to cook and it’s great you get to practice them before cooking it against the clock

I was dreading this game after news of cryptocurrency and switch overheat - but I can safely say it's not true. I own the physical copy. The graphics are a big improvement from its predecessors, but could arguably be improved - although I think part of the charm is its old school factor. The music is not new, mama's voice is and worse than ever (she doesn't stop talking, parroting patronising praise throughout each task) - but luckily both can be muted individually so you can choose what to keep and mute. We keep the sounds and music only (kids don't mind the music). The motion controls are all fine, we only struggle with slicing motion (many agree on this so they might fix it). One child is vegetarian so loves the selection. Overall much better than anticipated and keeps everyone entertained.

So i read the reviews before buying, I mean alot of people saying her voice - solution - go to settings turn off voice volume, or wait for it, top left of your switch volume button boom, job done. Second issue, the social media hype - press A, then X, then B speeds up the process thus leaving you not time to endure this process ( I could be wrong on the buttons its dark and I can't be bothered to tell alexa to turn the light on) the third issue - the timing - can't solve this one however I find this mildly irritating however what an excuse to practice and do it again. I appreciate young children however might get bored quick, myself at 35 and in isolation, not a problem I require all the help I can to get me thru the next few days.... however should someone find a solution to the vibration, I'd be awfully pleased. Sometimes the intensity over rides mamas delightful screaming at me voice.... ohhh and all else fails, do what I've done, dig out the old DS and play on there!!

FINALLY found a game for my 5year old (not tech savvy) son, it’s perfect for him to get used to all buttons on his switch! I even enjoyed playing them haha!

I've been playing these games since the very first, all were wonderful and I've played them multiple times. Yet this game is the worst. It's horribly animated, the controls are terrible and tedious and there is just no enjoyment in any part of the game, especially displaying the food at the end. Im glad that I got a physical copy of the game so that I can get rid of it!

I'm a huge fan of Cooking Mama, playing most games and spin offs on the DS. I jumped at rumours when there was an alleged new Cooking Mama game for the switch. Of course, I ordered it straight away when Amazon put up a listing. I received my copy late but with the ongoing issues with the creators, I'm glad I got a copy anyway. Right off the bat, I noticed mochi as a recipe. This recipe has been in multiple games which was a bit annoying. I chose Seafood Curry as my first recipe. The game prompts you can play it with joy con but I went with handheld. The controls are fine but the on screen prompts to show you which direction to push the joy stick and which buttons to press are extremely slow, so the timer is almost always about to finish. It does show you before each step whether you'll need to use the joy stick and/or buttons and it will become more obvious as you continue to play. Mama's voice does vaguely sounds like the original but the things she says is just "hurry up", "here we go, "let's go", "I'm getting hungry!" and even yawning when you're pausing before another step, which quite frankly is really annoying. What I thought was the worst part of this game is when Mama says "pics or it didn't happen", "wow, this will go viral". But it was actually at the end of the game where you style your food and then your friends like it as if it's instagram. I don't want to say it's too "millennial" but it promotes social media way too much and kind of just sucks the joy away from the whole franchise. Also, I played without updating my game and 20 minutes in and my switch is warm to the touch. All in all, I know the original creators didn't make this game, nor did they agree fully before it was released but it really does feel like a janky version of Cooking Mama.

This game is such a fun family game. It's great for younger kids that are around the age of four and its fun for the parents in their 30's. Even older children enjoy this game. We don't let our children play video games often but the graphics aren't harsh on this one and its so bright and colorful.

I corrieri di Amazon come sempre sono veloci, grazie ragazzi. Il gioco è in linea con quanto descritto, la Mama parla inglese ma il menù è in italiano. Per i bimbi va più che bene poiché sono stimolati ad apprendere per osmosi parole ed espressioni base della lingua inglese. Consigliato

Típico juego de nintendo de toda la vida, me encanto poderlo encontrar ya que esta retirado de todos lados, si os gusta el clásico de coking mamá os lo recomiendo.

Me encanta, soy fan desde pequeña de cookimg mama, me hacía mucha ilusión tener este juego y saber que en digital ya no lo podía conseguir me decepciono un poco, pero ahora con esta copia fisica estoy muy contenta, era justo lo que esperaba, lo recomiendo mucho, además llego días antes.

j'ai reçu ma commande avec un jour d'avance, le jeu est en voix anglaise mais l'écrit est français. Article conforme. Je tiens à rassurer les personnes qui aimerait l'acheter mais qui ont des réticences de part la polémique qui a eu sur le jeu, je vous rassure le jeu fonctionne très bien je n'ai pas perdu de données de sauvegarde ou quoi et n'ai pas vu de trucs bizarre. La seule petite choses que je pourrait relever c'est certes le jeu fais un peu chauffer la console mais rien de grave ça arrive aussi avec d'autre jeu. Voilà en espérant que j'ai pu aider.
