Amazon Fresh, Petite Diced Canned Tomatoes, 14.5 Oz (Previously Happy Belly, Packaging May Vary)

I never thought of using canned tomatoes in a fresh garden salad. But I didn't have any fresh ones and these were sitting in the pantry, so I thought I'd give them a try. So often I get fresh tomatoes and am disappointed. What a great surprise these were! I could eat them out of the can. I love the smoky flavor. The only downside is, if you're watching your salt intake, canned products of course have lots of salt. But with delicious taste, decent consistency even for a fresh salad, and a low price, I'll find a way of integrating them into my diet. Thanks Amazon!

Made a Pizza Casserole the other day. The recipe called for drained diced tomatoes. I used these Petite Diced Tomatoes, and they were perfect. The taste was good, and there were plenty of pieces in the cans used.

Tomatoes were perfect for chili. Spicy and aromatic addition was delicious. Petite diced was appropriate sized!

I used these to make pasta sauce, and it turned out great. Tasty tomatoes, cut to the right size, and easy to work with. The only reason I knocked it down a star is on value for money, my local Safeway (Albertsons for those out west) had a similar can for 5 cents less. I'm not expecting AmazonFresh to match Lidl or Walmart own-brands, but it should be at least equivalent to mid-market grocery stores.

I needed some Fresh Tomatoes for my sauce.. but if you're ANYTHING Like ME...Can't find good sweet fresh tomatoes recently??!!.. It's like their skin is leather, and I have to peel each one..UGH !!.. Sooo,, I tried these canned tomatoes...out of desperation... And to My Amazement they seemed FRESHER than actual fresh tomatoes...sweet, delicious, and at this price-point.. actually cheaper than --fresh tomatoes-- UGH.. sad but true.. (unless you grow your own.. )...They hold up.. not mushy.. I show in my pic, my Farfal, with tomatoes/meat sauce... I'm impressed... and Im Not easily impressed.. I'll def be buying more cans of these tomatoes... just to have on hand, until i can get my veggie garden up and running.. LOL..
