Q: Does this comes with the tools for diy? what is the maximum distance possible between the wood and the phone?

All you need is a screwdriver. You do need to bore a hole under the surface of the furniture. It is self-expanding to fit snuggly in the hole you drill. They suggest no more than a quarter-inch of wood between the surface and the charger.

Q: I’m know the led is always on but i find it annoying and don’t need it as a reference point can i block the led at the unit and still charge my phone?
