Just brewed with this yesterday. I checked calibration with distilled water then tested against my hydrometer and it's right on target. It's easy to read and can focus the sharpness of the scale. I didn't even have to adjust it; came calibrated out of the box. Comes in a nice hard case, well made and feels sturdy. I am very happy with this so far.

It accurately measures my wort - no more messing around with hygrometers! I like that it has a corrected scale for more accurate measurements. I have another, less expensive refractometer, and this one is a little higher quality. Should get a lot of good use from this one.

I did not know what to expect for $49, but was pleasantly surprised. This is a very nice refractometer. I use it for my backyard grape vines and wine batches to measure sugar levels. It is sturdy and well made.

Much quicker, takes a much smaller sample size, and is accurate at room temperature. I love the fact I can take readings at any time during the mash or boil and not need the bigger sample that the hydrometer requires, though it is nice to be able to taste the beer as it progresses! At any rate, I'll still use my hydrometer for taking final gravity readings. The package arrived on time and in fine shape.
