was able to do my own repairs to furance even after paying a company to look at it but not do repirs

The limit switch on my Carrier Furnace broke and the symptoms I had were a constantly running fan, even with my thermostat detached from the wall and NOT calling for heat or fan. The heat would not run.After troubleshooting to find that it was in fact a bad limit switch, I went on the hunt to find a replacement with very little success. My old switch was a 195 degree cutoff with a 30 degree cut back on, meaning the temperature needs to drop 30 degrees from 195 before it allows the heat to run again.I couldn’t find that anywhere and I needed this thing ASAP. So I went with this item, a 190 cutoff with the higher 40 degree drop. This seemed to be a fine option, since if anything it’s safer than the one I had before. While sticking a thermometer in the same spot this limit switch goes, it was running around 145 degrees at the most. So a 190 cutoff is just fine in my opinion.Furnace has been running perfectly for a couple cold months now.

This part fit and worked as advertised. Saved me hundreds of $s over calling in a service tech., it was a dead easy task to swap this part in. Maybe 10 minutes of work, that is it.
