Pimsleur Polish Basic Course - Level 1 Lessons 1-10 CD: Learn to Speak and Understand Polish with Pimsleur Language Programs

I was impressed by the research that supports this method of learning a language. I liked the 30 minute lessons, easy to fit into a busy schedule. I liked the way the words and phrases from previous lessons were combined with the new ones from the next lesson, which made it easier to remember and understand what had already been learned. The frequent "listen and repeat" allow you to practice speaking common phrases. I am by no means fluent in Polish after 10 basic lessons, but my Polish co-workers have been impressed at how quickly I have learned to understand and use some common phrases. This system does start to train your ears to hear and listen to a new language. I did each lesson twice before moving to the next one. I would definitely recommend this system (and the price is right). This system is completely oral, so will not be right for someone who wants to learn to read and write in a new language. I will definitely continue to learn using the Pimsleur Language products.

I have finally found a course that helps to teach me the basics of the polish language without bothering with the intricacies of spelling and writing. Since what I need is basic conversation this is ideal. It is also so great that one can learn while driving. Helps keep your road rage in check too lol. I found it so good that I have ordered another for my husband, since we work together.

I got this package two days ago - let me tell you. Skip to number 2 on the cd and just repeat outloud. I have had to listen to it three or four times in two days, but I'm REALLY GETTING the language. It explains more than you first anticipate. Versus the other products for hundreds of dollars - I plan on giving this a valiant effort, because I'm very pleased so far. My grandparents were all off the boat, but nobody can carry the tradition of language. I want to change that. I'm going to keep repeating each section until I'm comfortable. I am more impressed by the fact I'm grasping the lessons rather than mimicking. I get what they are trying to teach. If you aren't rich like myself - give it a try. Skip to number two though! It blabs on and on about the professor and how you shouldn't write notes....blah blah blah. I am SO happy I'm learning Polish. What will the third day bring???

Coming from someone who took 2 years of Spanish and didn’t retain anything I was skeptical if this program would even work for me...but I’m now on Lesson 12 and have retained everything I’ve learned! My boyfriend who is fluent in Polish is so impressed with how much I’ve learned! I do 1 lesson a day, 6 days a week and I typically spend 2-3 days on a lesson. I know it says not to use pen or paper during your lesson, but it it helps me to see how the word is spelled. So I use the Lonely Planet Polish phrasebook and dictionary and a Polish Translating app to write down new words I learn from each lesson.

I bought this for a quick run through of easy to use phases for when I visited Poland. This is in an easy to remember format that feels natural. I would recommend this for people who want to quickly learn what they need to in order to function in a different country. This does not start from the beginning but rather teaches you phrases to get by.

Don't get me wrong it's a great way to learn Polish but is all CD, I tough it would have some books I don't remember the name of the Audio+Books I bough long time a go to learn Japanese it worked perfectly. Tough is good if you are better an audito but for me my cup of tea is to do both.I agree with the other who say he have basic knowledge me too, if you know Polish this is not for you.

You will learn some basic polish to carry on a conversation. they are really 15 minutes lessons because half the 30 minutes for each is a review of the previous. But that is to help you commit to memory and they explain this from the begining. I listened to each section about twice a day for 1 week. I went from knowing no polish to being able to say hello, do you speak english. I understand english/mothing a little or alot. etc. so you will definately learn polish I put the audio on my phone and listening on the ride to work. pro: IT WORKS con: Wish i got more lessons because this product is great.

I have used Pimsleur products to learn German and now Polish. I listen to them in the car during my commute to work. Easy step by step pronunciations. Within about 2 weeks I am comfortable with a couple phases that will come in handy while traveling.

This is Polish 1 but I was disappointed on finishing the discs to find there's no Pimsleur Polish 2, or not on disc anyway. I haven't tested out any of my Polish yet so for all I know it's been teaching me Klingon! But if so, I can definitely and confidently ask a Klingon if they would like something to drink. I can also say "at one o'clock", "at two o'clock", "at three o'clock", "at four o'clock", "at five o'clock", "at eight o'clock" and "at nine o'clock". Polish people don't seem to do anything at 6, 7, 10, 11 or 12. It was fun, or at least driving with it on the car stereo was fun.

I like this program because I had no knowledge of Polish and as I am planning a trip next year, I wanted to have the basics. It was easy to follow and explained in easy to understand instructions. Maybe a written little dictionary to accompany would have been helpful since I am a visual learner...

I am enjoying the so far the 4 lessons I have done, I find it works very well to get across recollecting the Polish words. I very much like that you are constantly saying out loud the sentences. I would highly recommend it

I have found this 'Pimsleur method' CD set to be the best and fastest way to learn Polish, I listen to it in my car and found that in 3 weeks I was engaging in Polish conversation with my Polish friends- EXCELLENT.
